I think this is an OK but there are to many abbreviations of words and after reading half the book it becomes very dry and uninteresting.(paint drying moments)

I am sure this book would help you move up the google rankings, but from a programmers perspective I believe you can find all you want on googles website and related forums. Think I wasted my money here.

This book was given to me when I started in the advertising industry and has inspired me to push myself creatively and to challenge everything. The book presents a high risk high gain strategy of managing your career by thinking out of the ordinary. I think as a direct result of reading this book I have used the presentation that my boss deemed 'too different' and questioned the norm on a daily basis, which has so far worked out well for me!!

Although this book is obviously been aimed at the creative industries, a couple of my friends read it when we were on holiday (a doctor and farmer) and they seemed to take away as much from it as I did. If you are in anyway considering or already are making money from photography this is the book for you.

It contains information on a vast number of magazines, newspapers, books and even calender companies that will readily take your work. It gives you details on what each company is looking for in terms of subject matter, format, size of file (for digital) and the minimum volume of work required.

More importantly most companies give you a personal remark on the types of image they are looking for and in some cases those they re definately not. Where possible there is also a price guide for the use of images and a good , fair, limited rating for oppurtunity of free lance work being used.

Reading the latest review of this book, I literally had to leave my desk, walk over to the book shelf and check the title of the book I thought I'd read, because there was such a mismatch. But no mistake. It's just that I'm not able to associate the glowing praise of the reviews with what I have in front of me.

I bought it from Amazon with an open mind and was actually looking forward to it arriving in the post. It came and with great excitement I read the cracking testimonials from John Harvey-Jones, "Management Today" and others, and was thrilled by the way it described itself as "The world's bestselling book on persuasion".

Not much of a book person, but was happy to take all the help I could get (being new in sales), so read about 30% of this book and the very next day I did more sales than ever before. One month later, I'm the top 20% of performers and one of the two people who have hit their target half way through the quarter.....definitely worth every penny and worth keeping for future reference.

Brian Tracy applies common sense / logic, but offers the experience that is similar to listening to a guy who is top of his game and been in sales for years. I have a lot to thank this man for.

If you run a business and you either hire people to write your marketing and advertising material, or you do it yourself, this book should be at arms length whenever you roll out a promotion, advert, sales letter or anything else you write to sell your products and services.

If you know about this book and you don't use it, you're plain raving bonkers. It IS a high priced marketing and advertising consultant for what, under 15 quid!!?
