I can see how this might work for some people, but it definitely wont work for me. I have IBS which is triggered by dairy amongst other things, and a lot of these recipes have things that I cant eat suxh as butter and cream, although they do sound tasty.
However, my main concern with this book is the misleading information. Reference to good fats in butter and double cream, in my opinion, is complete nonsense. The fats found here are saturated fats, the bad kind. The 'good fats', or fatty acids, that are an essential part of our diet are found in foods such as nuts, avocados, olive oil and oily fish, NOT butter and cream. I think Neris and India should have put a bit more research into this before misleading their readers.

I have taken a bit of stick in the past for my reviews about Rosemary Conley products simply because I spout off about how gorgeous I think she is.Quite a few people have objected to my ravings about her and told me off for not commenting enough about her products.Well, she is still an absolute stunner,a dream of a woman but this time I will concentrate solely about this simply excellent cookbook.
This is one of her best books to date.It takes a short while to get to her recipes as Rosemary spends the first few pages talking specificly about diet. But when we do get around to the actual recipes they are absolutely mouth watering. What I particularly like about this book is that Rosemary caters for every taste bud with a section on puddings which ... I followed it to the letter and lost 8lb in 7 days (I was 1.5st overweight, but otherwise fit). It required v little willpower. I didn't even crave chocolate (and I was a 2-3 bar per day girl before) and it has definately unhooked me from my unhealthy eating habits (sugar, salt, caffeine, comfort food) and given me the boost I needed.
The plan requires organisation and the ability to wash up lots (the juicer and blender) as you are making juices up to 5 times per day! Once you're in the swing of it, the juices are quick and will probably save you time compared to regular cooking.
I did feel hungry and light headed at times, despite the calorie intake, but then I am running around after 2 small children all day and rarely sit down. ... Read More:

I love this book, infact I love juicing. Jason is a great inspiration and juicing certainly helped me to a healthier and trimmer body. I have tried most of the recipes and all of them taste wonderful. The vegetable ones are a great way to use up the excess stock from my allotment.
I didn't even buy this book - it came free with my juicer, now that's a bargain.

Honestly, don't waste your money on this book. You can find more than what you can find in here through an internet search on google and it's easier to find as well. The first four foods I looked for in here, I couldn't find any of them. What's more, the nutrient information for thousands of foods in the UK is freely available for download from the Food Standards agency. It's called the Composition of Foods Integrated Dataset. Really, if you are wanting to lose weight, eat more healthily. or just monitor your macronutrient intake, this book is not worth the money.

i have read this book out of intertest after loosing 2 stone with paul mckenna.i have an interest in people and our relationship with food
i like the idea of intuitive eating, but then its says you shouldnt really eat alot of this or that, surely if he says follow your instincts about what to eat, saying what you idealy shouldnt eat is a contradiction? i mean with paul mckenna there is nothing at all you should be thinking about,no sugar or dairy, meat questions.just plain simple eat what you want and let the body tell yopu, how can your body be wrong.i have lost losts of weight and i dont eat alot of any so called junk food ,but if i really fancy it,i have it. i do think he has some interesting points and my husband stopped smoking thanks to his book,so he is helping ... How silly that I had to give this appalling book a star just so I could post my review! Really, Amazon, are we not allowed to give a zero rating???
Anyway, as you can see from my title, I do, indeed give this book NO STARS.
Well LANGUAGE "ladies", please! Thank goodness the authors had the idea of letting the customer see inside the book before purchasing! The finger-pointing, aggressive tone is bad enough, but the "F" word a few pages in, describing soda manufacture, is indefensible. I would not give this insulting book shelf-room. Do yourselves a favour, don't buy it!

I have recently been diagnosed with insulin resistance, and told I needed to follow a low GI diet. A recipe book created by a chef who was also diagnosed as insulin resistant seemed like an obvious choice, but I was very disappointed for several reasons.
First, most of the recipes do not seem practical for everyday living. Many of them have long cooking times and need perishable or unusual ingredients, and therefore need forward planning.
Second, I feel there is not enough information to enable the reader to make their own low GI recipes. There is GI table in the front, but over-simplified (for my tastes) into low, medium or high GI and not containing that many foods. Also, bread in particular may be low, medium or high GI depending on variety - again, ... Read More:

First of all the diet works a treat, i was very pleased with the results and found it easy. But i'm not reviewing the diet i'm reviewing the book. The book is great if you want to know the in's and out's of the science behind the Atkins theory. I personally thought even though it made sense it dragged on. I just wanted to get to the part were i started to lose weight. Eventually i came to about three pages in the book with lists of foods that were allowed on the Atkins diet.
To be honest i could have probably googled the information and not bothered with the book but it is nice to hear it from the doctors mouth.

I bought this, and 2 other carb counting books, because I have 2 children who are Type 1 diabetic and we need to carb count for the basal bolus insulin regime they are using. I found it so useful I bought another 3, 1 each for the kids and 1 to be kept in the kitchen. The other books got left on the shelf, this one is far and away the easiest to use (& to carry around) and the best thing it's all UK foods, products and measurments. Since my children are teenagers the fact that it includes fast foods from the likes of McDonalds is really helpful too, they are much more inclined to use this than the others. All in all we have been really pleased with this book and would recommend it to anyone needing to keep an eye on their carb intake.
