This is a must have item for anyone with candida. The recipes are a life-saver. The easy part is figuring out what you can't have but i really needed help with what i can have & this was it. 5 stars.

If you've just been diagnosed check out other books BEFORE you buy this one. This is a great book but it's quite complex and off-putting by the sheer size alone.
There are 3 parts to the book (with 12 chapters in total): nutritional healing for PCOS, tackling your problems and prepare for success.
Whilst it is a great book my life wouldn't have been missing anything if I hadn't have bought it. The appendix is extremely useful as it summarises a lot of information that is available on the internet. Likewise, the suggested reading also provides useful material.

Have to be honest, it's rare I'll even bother to write a book review but feel compelled to here. After being a veggie for 20 years, I'm toying with the idea of becoming a vegan. I'm not one for being preached at and most 'activists' irritate me beyond description. Also, I'm not one for overblown American in your face type writing, so I was a little apprehensive about buying this. I needn't have been. It's superb. Honest, humorous, non preachy and debunks many myths including several perpetuated by vegans themselves. The authors include links for further info and resources which adds to the value too. If you're considering becoming a vegan or even just flirting with the idea, buy this book.

I have had diabetes for 35 years - and needed a 'refresh'. I read about this book on a messageboard and thought I would check it out - not only is it extremely informative about diabetes - and what it is all about - the advise is so, so sound - the best I have read (and I have read and received a lot!). You can follow the strict diet or cheat a bit like me! But the low carb approach (which isn't easy!) really does work for me - it is amazing. Type 1 or Type 2 I would recommend you read this book - even just for the inspiration. My diabetes is a part of me and have never had issues with it as I do not know life without it! But I am always learning!

It is 3 years since I bought this book,in April 2005, soon after being diagnosed with the most serious staging of prostate cancer. I had only just celebrated my 54th birthday and here was I being told that the prognosis was very, very bleak.
I then bought and read Jane Plant's own inspiring story of her fight against breast cancer in her book "Your life In Your Hands", and I became convinced of the wisdom of her words and her successful strategy in the battle against such devastating illness.
The first step in my fightback was to completely change my diet, and to do this I needed a guide to help me through the planning of all my daily meals. Never having been on any type of diet before, I was at a loss as to where to start, what to buy, what to avoid, and how to prepare and ... Read More:
