If you have ever wanted to experience the best food in the world (as has been voted), this book is for you. 'A Day at ElBulli' covers a single day in chronological order spanning over 600 captivating pages. Don't expect an extensive narrative or cookbook format from this volume (though they are both included - try his recipes and see how you compare); however, for those interested in experiencing what the world's best restaurant is like this is a must, especially at this price. The book is full of beautiful photographs that fill nearly every page with either shots of amazing food or the behind-the-scenes work in the kitchen.
A Day at elBulli clearly illustrates the genius and passion of Ferran Adria and offers a small glimpse at ... Read More:

I've had this book (the older edition) for almost 10 years now and I'm still using it. The recipes always work perfectly, the short little stories over each recipe are fun to read and I've never made any soup from this or the other two books without people asking for second, third and in one case even fourth helpings (and most of the time the soup was supposed to be the starter!). Normally, I make at least double the quantities because of that. Can you say more to show just how yummy the recipes are? This definitely is a book I couln't live without. Everybody should have it!

I love the variety in this book, the simplicity of the recipes and the fact that I don't have to go out and buy ingredients that I wouldn't normally buy. It's also just an excellent idea to make a book that provides seasonal recipes, great for people who grow their own fruit and vegetables.
I'd recommend this to anyone, even if you think you can't cook!

This amazing cooking bible just came out and I have already tried lots of recipes and they are all amazingly delicious! Great for both formal dinner parties and for cozy family suppers.
I highly recommend it, it is perfect for the winter and also a great Christmas gift!!
I love this book - everything I have made from it has come out as it should have! The ingredients aren't too exotic, and there's a good variety of recipes. There is a good mixture of simple and fancy things to make.
The only difficulty I had was that quite a few of the recipes contained nuts (I live with someone with an allergy) but in a lot of cases the nuts weren't a crucial part of the recipe anyway.
I love this series of books, and this is my favourite so far!

This is a wonderful book for everyone from beginner to seasoned producer of meals. The recipes work. The instructions are clear. The ingredients are obtainable. And, most importantly they taste GREAT! I have been known as a soup dragon (producing homemade soups) for more years than I care to remember and I found lots of new ideas and good recipes to pinch and make my own.
Buy it! It's a snip!

Like the first one, this is a book I couldn't live without. The recipes are just as delicious and easy as before, only this time you'll also find some for beans and breads. My favourite is "Bean and Spelt Soup", which is also great, if you've got to feed someone allergic to wheat. I tried a lot of the other recipes, too and they were all winners. I can only recommend it!

Previously owned the 1999 edition, which I did not find as inspiring as the 2007 revised version. This is an excellent book, beautifully produced. The photography is absolutely superb - a joy to see. I now have a list of about 50 soups to make!! Best soup book on the market, by a long way.
