It's derivative. There is absolutely nothing that hasn't been said over and over again.
It's simplistic. Life can be simple, but that doesn't mean you should treat your audience as if they are too.
It's repetitive. Get a variety of different figures in your niche to all say the same things using slightly different words.
It's nasty. Follow the philosophy through to it's logical conclusion and you are left with the concept that those who suffer have brought it upon themselves. There may be a grain of truth for some of the many unfortunates out there, but try telling a starving family in a poverty- and drought-stricken wilderness that really they ... Read More:

This book was given to me as a present - I would not have dreamt of buying it myself!
What can I say but that the thought process (seasoned with narcissism and treacled with worship of the self) which underpins this little book goes against all that I hold dear.
Further, it is downright bizarre and borders on the offensive at times. I will quote from it liberally below to support what I have said. Pseudo-religion for the bourgeoise, complacent and self satisfied.
"We are each responsible for all our experiences" (page xiii)
This is plainly wrong. We possess a human nature which is subject to the vagaries of the external world - famine, disease, earthquakes. These are simply beyond our control ... Read More:

Ok let's be honest, I have not read every word of this book. A friend had a copy in their house and since I am interested in Physics and Biology I picked it up and had a flick through it. On the random page I opened at there was such a glaring error in what was being presented as scientific fact that it surely calls into question the author's competence and/or honesty. I read on and found more and more instances of established scientific fact being misrepresented or twisted to suit the argument being presented. A great example would be the author's continual insistence on incorrectly equating the clearly defined concept of energy as used in Physics with the imprecise and unquantifiable property of "energy" as promoted by so-called alternative practitioners. Likewise, ... Read More:

Quite simply one of the best books i have personally ever read in my 27 years.
No amount of views good book reviews could do this book justice, the only thing that could would be if you gave this book to everyone as soon as they learnt to read.
The Dalai Lama's is quite a special person who despite everything he has been though in Tibet still has so much warmth and compassion.
This book is a simple read yet within it's pages contains so much knowledge and wisdom that if all of us on the planet put into practice the world would be a very different place indeed.
Stop reading this review and go and get hold of a copy of this book in anyway you can and simply, enjoy!

i bought this book after it was recommended to me by a friend. i wouldnt normally write a review after reading a book but felt it was necessary this time.
on the first attempt i found the book a little far-fetched and struggled to accept the story line. however i decided to give it another go and completely changed my opinion of it.
this book requires a completely open mind and a skeptical attitude will prevent it from having any impact at all. i found the insights to be really poignant and felt that they rang true with many events and thoughts which have occurred for me in my life.
i wouldnt say this book is 'life changing' but i feel it is a good tool to have when approaching new, and in some cases more familiar, situations and it has caused me to ... Read More:

This is just about the best non fiction book I have ever read and most certainly the best £4 I ever spent.
There are many thousands of books out there which claim to make us millionaires over night, many of which are sold here on Amazon. But while they quite often have overall 5 star ratings, you never actually see any customer reviews informing us they did indeed become a millionaire over night. What The Richest Man In Babylon does though is instead tell us that through using common sense and a bit of self discipline, we can all become rich over time.
The synopsis is simple, through a series of very brief stories taken from recently excavated scrolls perportedly found in the ancient lost city of Babylon, you are told how to manage your money. Each little tale has one main ... Read More:

After spending a considerable amount of time following what has become known as "The Law of Attraction" and reading the Esther Hicks series of books on that subject (The Law of Attraction), I am now quite swayed in the direction of cosmic ordering.
The Cosmic Ordering Guide: Where Dreams Can Become Reality is not just a book that you just read for the sake of reading another one of those self-improvement books. No! It is a book that you infuse with yourself, a book that become so powerfully uplifting that you just want to gobble up all of the info as fast as possible so that you can start putting it to use.
As I was reading this, I became pleasantly aware of how different it was to any other discipline within the self-improvement genre of books. One could so easily be swayed into comparing ... Read More:
