I'm not especially interested in military history, neither am I a manager or businessman, but I still found this book very enjoyable. It has the rare appeal of being of its time but at the same time applicable to the present day. Many of the insights feel very contemporary - not simply to the business arena but to any aspect of life. The style is terse and aphoristic, which means that it doesn't really matter that the book is quite short. Even the chapters on terrain tactics are interesting from a historical point of view. This is a thick tomb, not so portable as a set of keys but much more portable than a well stocked library. - what you need to look up the writings of the authors mentioned in this book. This book is a tourist guide to intellectual places you have never considered visiting, or wanted to but didn't know where to start.
I think this book may have been more readable to the non English Lit. graduate had the contents been presented from the most recent to the least. It takes effort to read the early entries and to understand them. Stick with it nonetheless your brain may ache from the effort but it will be fitter because of it. >>More Details |

I've also been buying this calendar for years. The artwork is beautiful and the articles always tied in with the month/season and the natural world. This also has planet phases and an ephemeris for those interested. I suppose it's aimed at pagans/wiccans but I am neither of these and just love it. I wish there were a UK version but it's not a big niggle.

These are my first Doreen Virtue purchase. I needed something to help me SLOW the pace of life and take stock of things. I got these cards a week ago and I have found them to be really precise and accurate. The first time I used them I asked for help with a situation and the card I chose was totally relevant and I kept it with me all day and I followed the advice. I think they have helped me and now I use them before I go to work and It is something I look forward to. I like to look at the illustrations which are are beautiful. Plus the cards are a lovely size. All in all I am very happy with my purchase.

This is a very well researched book on the nature of reality. He shows scientific experiments to prove the existence of an underlying field of energy which he calls the Divine Matrix. Braden postulates that we all affect this 'Matrix' with our thought and emotion - we are all a part of this matrix - all interconnected (and he proves it!).

A good one to recommend to anyone interested in Wicca, and suitable for the teen-market, this book contains a good mix of common sense and magical recipes. Basic Wiccan concepts are explained, alongside motherly advice on hygiene and diet. The lists of colour and scent correspondences which will remain useful even once the reader has done further reading, and activities such as the making of charm-bags and candles will allow the reader to begin making magic at once. There are also recipes and suggested menus for each of the Wiccan festivals.
