While I still say don't drive in France without it, the little symbol for Michelin-listed Camping Sites has been removed. This is a big disappointment for the camping fraternity.
I suppose SatNav is taking over (some campsite websites give their Long & Lat now), but you still a need a decent map to get the overal picture and work out alternatives when the SatNav fails, tries to send you the wrong way up a one way street or is just plain out of date.
I was at a hotel complaining about how I no longer felt that I could trust the advise given to me by friends, the internet, or guides about the state of holiday accommodation, especially in London. I noticed some guides on a bookshelf and started to read. I looked up accommodation that I had used and compared the comments with my own recollections. One of the things I like about the guide is that it encourages recommendations from their readers. It means that they are constantly revising and re-checking their information. If you know of any stunningly good small boutique hotels please let them know.

This is a great, easy to use large scale map which would have been perfect for a road trip if it hadn't started to fall apart after just 2 days. The spiral-bound sheets are far too thin and ripped easily.
