My son needed something more than his picture dictionary, but not so large he lost interest in looking a word up - and this is perfect.

I have twin girls. One adores this book for the beautiful stories and illustrations and the other who normally runs riot during story time cant get enough of duck spotting! Sounds strange but I take my hat off to the person who thought of hiding a little yellow duck on every page. AT last there is peace at story time and their ability to find socks, toys etc has improved too! I acquired this book second hand but would happily pay full price for another copy should our current one end in tatters.

This is a beautiful book. The story and the illustrations work wonderfully together. Neither the story nor the illustrations take over, they are in balance with each other. It provides a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience. If you like graphic novels and illustrated books, this is definitely for you.

My 10 month old daughter loves this book. It's got lots of different fabrics to feel and the snowflakes on each page are reflective too. Bright, bold pictures seem to amuse her. I would definitely recommend this book.

This book was recomended to my 11yr old daughter by her school. While one 12yr old character is fighting off an attempted rape which ends in the stabbing of the villan inbetween the legs, her brother is trying to get his 14yr old girlfriend to sleep with him. I always thought that reading helped the imagination lets hope this doesn't happen in this case. PARENTS BEWARE!

After we bought this we took our son to The National Gallery to see many of the works for real and having already had a basic introduction through this book he was utterly fasicnated. ...which is that even though the Cherub agents have been through tough training and the book is always saying how important they are and how dangerous their life is, they never actually DO any of the hard stuff in the missions. All the Cherub agents can do is break into a house a photocopy stuff, then make it look like the break-in was 'only kids messing around'. Then they get out of the way and let the adults and the police finish off the mission. It might be realistic but it's lame.
The story-line in this one is OK though, but there isn't enough mystery about who killed the boy that dies at the beginning in a flashback. It seems kind of obvious all the way through. There is nothing new about the plot. I recommend the Cherub series over ... Read More: >>More Details |
