It is winter and it is snowing. All through the evening, Percy gets knocks from various different animals and they all want to share the bed. The problem is the bed is too small for them all. How will all of the animals and Percy get through the night? Find out in this book... I really, really, really like Percy the Park Keeper adventures (and have got four of the books) and would definitely and positively rate this book 8/ 10. I would absolutely strongly recommend it to everyone who likes Percy the Parker as well! Nick Butterworth has done a great job with all of the books - so I look forward to read and review other of his books!

My son is only 5 months, but he loves looking at this book even if he doesn't understand the "story" yet - there are lots of bright colours and things to see in the pictures. I can see him enjoying it more and more as he gets older as we discuss the content of the pictures (people, animals, clowns, magicians...) My only problem is to stop my son from eating the book! The CD is a great bonus.

First, the good stuff: this is a bold, honest, naked and funny tome about the writing process for one of television's most acclaimed comebacks. The reader follows Russell T. Davies through the agony and the ectasy of the entire writing process and, goaded along by Benjamin Cook, who acts as much as a muse as an enabler, the cigarette-fuelled revelations are so personal that one can get a contact high from being so ensconced in this man's head.
The pictures (including many beautiful stills during production as well as Davies' insanely brilliant cartoons) are to be cherished as much as the raw scripts that litter the hysterically titled email exchanges between Davies and Cook. "Northern Lights" is a fantastic novel by Philip Pullman. It is the first book in a trilogy called "His Dark Materials". This book, is about a girl called Lyra, who lives in a universe like ours, but very different in lots of things. Lyra used to attend Oxford College until she finds out about "dust". When her friend Roger disappears, Lyra sets off to the North to find him with help of her "daemon" and an "alethiometer" given to her by the master of Oxford College. This book is one of those books in which someone cannot stop reading. It is perfectly written, exciting, and sometimes even scary. I not only recommend this book to children, but to every person that just needs something to be excited about.

As a pre-school teacher I urge you never to read this book in your setting again. It perpetuates the belief that men go to work and women stay at home to shop and cook and childcare. Reading this book to children perpetuates a stereotypical outdated image of both family life and individual roles within a family based on gender, and reading it to children sends powerful messages to them about what roles they will be expected to fulfill later in life. Rip it up and throw it away lest you construct children of tomorrow subject to the same limitations based on gender that we are today. Think hard about how you use language in your setting to construct the norms of childhood and challenge all members of staff to be vigilant when using language and reading stories. NEVER ... I reallly enjoyed this book, like all of the series but i was shocked how they seem to have skipped the other books into making them into audio books i was really looking forward to listening to Maximum Secruity but it seems they have decided to only realese the new books not the old ones.

I loved letterland and so did my daughter and I taught her the letters using their reading cards and CD (both of which I highly recommed). However, now that my daughter has started Reception I was looking for something else to stimulate her writing as well as her reading, which is coming along very nicely. After reading such positive comments on this Jolly Phonics product, I bought it and it just so happens that it is the same method they are using at her school to teach them the letter. She loves it as she recognises it all. A good way to complement at home, what she's learning at school. Also, it's a great way to get her to practice her writing and do it in short periods of time, broken up by the colouring, which she also enjoys. There is a great skill in writing children's books that don't make adults groan when their offspring say, "Can you read this one again."
I'm pleased to say that Andy Stanton has pulled it out of the bag again. He is one of those rare authors who has a knack of writing hilarious books that appeal to adults and children. They make the whole of our family roll around laughing. This book is no exception and there have been several altercations over whose turn it is to read it (and that is just amongst the adults). His characters and plots are off-the-wall and we constantly repeat lines from his books including, "In the olden days," said Old Granny, "It was rubbish..." I think my title says it all, this episode 5 of Chronicles of Ancient Darkness is classic for 21st Century. At present pricing, the six disc set at less then £10 delivered, is very good value. Unlike other Audio CDs the packaging is well made and lends itself to repetative listening. The story is very well read with full character voices. I must say this story is getting quite 'dark' now, so some Parents may wish to sample it first. That said, I believe Adults and children will really enjoy it. Enjoy!

Fantastic book. My four year old has had me read this book so many times she knows it word perfect. The rhyming is great. So easy to read and enjoy as an adult too. A real classic like their other books, funny and well illustrated.
