The Prophet is about a mysterious religious thinker who is about to leave for his native land. Before he goes, many people have just one question to ask him. In a very few words, he tells them his accumulated wisdom primarily in a nondenominational way. The only exceptions come in the references to rebirth. The essence of each brief lesson is that we have to step outside of our own perspective to see things in the way that God does and wants us to.
Let me give you an example. When someone transgresses either man's laws or God's laws, we tend to condemn the person harshly and focus on punishment. This is like treating the person as though they have fallen below some level of what it is still to be human. Yet no one does anything ... Read More:

I first read this book when I was 8 or 9, and have re-read it again many times since - most recently just last last month, I read it to my partner - we're both in our 40s, I still bawled like a baby in the same places I did the first time, particularly at the end! Quite simply the most perfect book ever written, in my opinion. Not just about cats, or for cat lovers, it perfectly sums up everything there is to be said about love, trust and relationships... everyone should read this book.

The only miracle here is that this book actually got published.
I gave Og Maldino another chance, perhaps I was being too hastey to pass judgement when I read 'The Greatest Salesman in the World' and failed to see the underlying life changing messages. But it appears I have been disappointed..again.
If you are looking for more common sense advice from Og Maldino here it is with a different title.

This is a great book for using with groups of upper Primary children, either in class or in choir. However, be prepared fro some amused looks when you play the CD as some of the voices can get the children giggling!
However, there is a good mix on here and the CD can help out those who are not lucky enough to be gifted with the talent to play an instrument. The only downside is that you have to fiddle with left/right balance on your CD player to get the tracks to play as accompaniment only.
I would recommend as it is good value for money and a highly professional resource.
