I followed the advice of the previous reviewers as I needed a present for a friend. I was not disappointed. This is a super book. It is useful because it has all kinds of designs, not just huge displays which not everyone wants to make. There are simple methods to follow so designs can be tried out easily at home. I like the history of flower designs too which is presented interestingly with some historical photos. There are also large glossy pictures for just browsing. This book is an ideal present. I have never been very tempted to try out flower arranging myself but this flower design encyclopaedia is a real inspiration and has given even me some ideas.

I bought the 7 point system for Adobe Photoshop CS3 on the strength of how good the previous Adobe Photoshop CS3 Book for Digital Photographers. The thing about this book it makes you want to take better photos. Whether you have a top of the range SLR or a point and shoot this step by step guides to creating great photos is so addictive. This book drums into you head the steps you need to create great photos. I like drawing myself, but I needed a little help in some areas of drawing. I came across this book in waterstones and bought it (sorry amazon!), as it looked very informative. How right I was.
It is great for taking each project step by step, storing it in a portofolio (excuse my spelling) and looking back and reflecting on it. I have enjoyed this book, and I doubt I will ever be 'finished' with it. >>More Details |

If you are looking for a comprehensive and easy to understand book on digital wildlife photography look no further. I have a couple of other books by this author, not only is his photography ahead of the field but he can write too. Whether you are reasonably experienced with the digital workflow or picking up a digital camera for the first time, this book is a mine of information that is easily understood and very accessible.
The chapters on RAW workflow were particularly helpful to me and have been written so they won't go out of date in a hurry. The artistry in the pictures is fantastic and the book is worth buying for those alone. >>More Details |

As someone who doesn't really enjoy biographies or have much interest in Kate Moss I didn't really expect to enjoy this book - but when my flatmate finished it she insisted I have a read. I'm glad she did - it is great stuff - a well researched, non-judgemental, portrait of a modern day icon. Fans will love it, and non fans (like me) cannot be fascinated by this unique insight into the enigmatic Moss. Collins' writing style also kept me, an avid fiction reader rather than biographies, hooked till the end.

I couldn't wait for this book, and I am please that this exciting event has had a book printed in its honour. Charlie Waite, one of the UK's most celebrated and respected landscape photographers is this events brainchild and the book is published by AA Publishing.
The book opens to an introduction, covering the competitions categories, the sponsors and special prizes. There is then a foreword by Charlie, giving his thoughts about the subject of landscape photography, environmental issues, the judging and expressing his love of the land.
