I enjoyed this book immensely. It is very tempting to describe the book by what it is not, not autobiography, not a companion to "Sorry I haven't a clue", not about Jazz... Though I think anyone with an interest in these areas will enjoy it.
The book is quite literally a collection of rambling thoughts and reminiscences - which does not sound very appealing. But Humphs love of language and music shine though continually, and it flows along in a delightful manner.
While his achievements in Jazz and Comedy are well known, Humph's journalism successes are perhaps less well known - and in my opinion his abilities as a writer are every bit as great, and that shines from the pages of this book. I really think anyone with a sense of humour ... Read More:

I loved this book... Fantastic photos galore as I had expected, but this book is far more than a glossy picture gallery. It gives a brilliant insight into Kate's universally admired and coveted personal style and sheds some light on the key players whose influence has helped to shape Kate Moss as a world style icon.
`Kate Moss: Style' is thoroughly researched, readable and inspirational. Buy this book!

Richard Holmes is well known as a military historian who can not only make the details of military campaigns intelligible, but can recognise the human stories beneath. There is little in terms of campaign detail. There is not that much that is especially original, either. But these are trivial matters compared with the book's place as in my opinion one of the best annotated photo albums about WW1. Enormous knowledge is worn lightly; the choice of photos is without exception excellent, with most them having appeared rarely if at all before. The greatest strength is that Holmes teaches us (without seeming to do so) how to read photos of WW1 and probably all conflicts, drawing us into the detail of the picture with warmth and humanity. Highly recommended ... Read More:

Banksy's Wall and Piece is simply an amazing collection of his graffiti art all across the UK and the world. His unique style has won him international acclaim to fame. His artwork is not just vandalism but sends out a political statement which is bold and isn't afraid to mention things we would otherwise keep quiet. I first heard Banksy on a news website when he created another piece of work and then visited his website banksy.com, and since then fallen in love with his work. The other day I came across the book in a store and really enjoyed his collection of work. This is a must have book for any of those interested not just in art, but also those who have been shaped by the news in recent years.

I cannot emphasise enough how well this book sets out the basics of DSLR photography. I am on my first DSLR and to be honest knew nothing about aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how the 3 interelate. This book sets these out so clearly that the layman can understand. Been wondering how/when to use the P, M, A or S buttons on your camera
?, This explains it perfectly, and gives nice glossy examples of a scene when you would use f/4 vs f/22. I also have the David Busch book to "replace" the manual, but this far exceeds what you can learn from that. Both good books in their own right.
