I actually bought this as a gift for my sister who is a photography student. She really really liked it as it reveals a bunch of photos classed as rejects from the pages of Vogue. Not only that, but information on the photographers, what they were thinking etc. Good buy if you are into fashion and photography.

It really is a very good book, deceptive in its simplicity, in which one is given direction (and lots more) from a master-teacher who really wants the reader to learn and improve.
As a horse lover, I have dreamed to be able to draw horses all my life, but I'm not exactly the worlds most talented artist!!!This book taught me how to draw horses quicker than I ever imagined, I have also purchased draw 50 cats and draw 50 dinosaurs and Im am pleased with the result of all 3, but mainly draw 50 horses.

One of the best birthday presents I've ever received....
It's not a book to replace individual lonely planet guides, but is a brilliant way to chase away winter blues, or alternatively, if you're thinking about going away somewhere, to have a brief idea of the time to go.
I much prefer leafing through a beautiful book like this rather than researching "when to go" on websites. It is the "big picture" of a country rather than east/west coast specific, but that's all you want or need if you're planning a fantasy trip, or if you're just looking for some ideas.
I've got the hardbook version which I think is better than the paperback one as it somehow makes it more "special" (without sounding naff I hope).

I have been pretty much glued to this book ever since getting it. I consider myself a computer geek, but PSE6 was quite new to me, and I have found the book invaluable in helping me find my way round the software and process my photos. It's easy to follow, well laid out, and quite well written (if somewhat American), and has very practical advice and tips. My husband, who is most definitely NOT a computer geek, has also been following and using it and quite happily. I mostly dip in an out for specific advice, but having just used it to successfully calibrate my monitor / download a printer profile / get a decent print (hurrah!), I am planning to read it cover to cover. In fact I may have to buy a second copy because I now have to fight my husband for ... Read More:

This book is stunning, as usual caroline Cox has illuminated the subject with her usual wit and erudition to produce an enthralling book. Visually gorgeous, the book covers all aspects of vintage shoes and fashion in general. Highly recommended.

What a great book. Concise with well thought-out chapters. Figgis writes in his own voice without self-promotion. This is really essential reading for anyone embarking on independant film making with a digital camcorder. He covers all aspects including your relationship with actors. This is not a technical how-to textbook, it's about the kind of experiences you would only get from working along side an experienced director.

I really enjoyed this book - lots of little things that make you think, and some really basic things that you probably wouldn't know unless you have finished architecture school. As I am just starting out, I thought it was great. Good tips for crits, drawing, etc.

For everyone who sat in their student bar reading Tank Girl in Deadline, or who remembers when standard female dress style was a mohican, a tartan mini-skirt, and Doc Martens, this is a must-have nostalgia trip.
