Although a very good book for your money (a cuple of quid (£) isn't a whole lot is it) I found this book lacking somewhat.
Although easy to read it isn't easy to learn from and can stub out your excitement at drawing when you come across the word "assignments" at the end of every chapter (if your in college, you know what I mean!). These tasks include things like going out and drawing random people and things you see or from magazines. We all know that practise makes perfect but the tasks at time just seem very strange and not something I'd want to do. The images in these books are for the most part uninteresting and yes i know that the book is "How to draw" but it would have been nice to see some colour ... Read More:

A big, sumptuous, heavy coffee table book, which treats the Beano archive with care and respect and documents the awsome talent which has gone into its creation over the past 70 years. The reproduction of numerous, full page, vintage and modern strips is crisp and clear - often taken from original artwork - and printed at a size which is suitable for ageing, nostalgic eyes. For too long Comics have been treated as trivial things; kids swopped them, teachers confiscated them and mothers gave them away to jumble sales. The material on display in this book, however, shows that the Beano, and its ilk, deserves to be re-assesed as a national treasure. It not only reflects the culture of the last 70 years, but can now be seen as having strongly ... Read More:

Not many secrets here, thats just a sales come on. Some usefull beginners info but sadly let down by the appalling print quality, this is a PHOTOGRAPHY book you know, the quality of the images should be much better than this!! May appeal if you want to be a 'shooter' too!

I took up digital photography recently and bought this book, after been diappointed with another photo book.
This book is a must for the person new at digital photography. It goes hand in hand with my Canon 400D.
The book is very up to date,last published in 2008. I wanted how to learn how to take good photos and not just how to work in the dark room or editing pics etc;
I wasn't diappointed. This covers the purchase of a camera, the lens you need, other accessories, photo techniques etc; There are even tips on most of the pages, things to do and not do!
This book is a great reference and a valuable read for the photographer.
I highly recommend this book, especially for the beginner to digital photography.
