I thought this book contained some nice and well illustrated recipes, even if some were so basic and well known that the average cook would already have them in several standard cookbooks. A couple of her famous 'novelty' cake recipes, perhaps suited to childrens birthdays, would have been welcome. The book gave the impression there were loads of additional recipes Jane would have liked to include but couldn't - why not!?
Her enthusiasm is encouraging, but unless you are already a Jane Asher fan, you may find her writing style and little anecdotes a bit twee and irratating and her overuse of parentheses (brackets) is truly infuriating!! >>More Details |

Excellent cake book. I had not attempted to make birthday cakes before I purchased this book and now I feel like an expert! This book gave clear and easy instructions on how to bake cakes, make icing, butter icing, fairy cakes etc. Highly recommended!!

I love cookies. They're so easy and quick to make. So I have to love this book!
The only problem I have is that I can't use it anywhere near as often as I'd like or I would need to get to the gym much more than I do at the moment! There are recipes for any kind of cookies/biscuits imaginable. Some are dead easy, some are a bit more complicated. My absolute favourite so far is the chocolate/mint one. But the choice is massive! And the recipes are written in a very easy-to-follow way. I'd say this is the only cookie book you will ever need! >>More Details |

Another fab book from Debbie Brown. I own a few of Debbie Brown's books and she is definitely my favourite author as far as cake decorating goes. The cakes look very complicated but with step by step clear instructions and photos they are easily achievable by any novice or experienced decorator. The cakes that I have made have all been very successful and I am always busy - thanks to Debbie!

I love these books and am yet to come across a bad one!!!
This little book is jammed with recipes that will have your mouth watering. All are easy to follow and range from easy peasy recipes to some that are more fiddly (but worth the effort). It contains everything from brownies & muffins to greek baklava and coconut biscotti. My absolute favourite is the Cirtus almond syrup cake which cant be beaten served warmed with clotted cream. The book contains a 'Tricks of the trade' section at the front and in the back is a comprehensive glossary and conversion chart. Really can't recommend it highly enough! >>More Details |
