Please, don't take any notice of the tripe you will read in these reviews about stupid humour. It is only in a half dozen intro pages and even then, it's not enough to worry about and stop you learning from these wonderful books.
Buy this book, buy volume one too and a good highlighter pen, because you will learn an awful lot (unless you are a seasoned pro). The tips are quick, precise and have made my photography much better in the week it has taken me to read (and cover in highlighter!) both volumes. Volume two has a great section on studio work with simple and inexpensive equipment that is worth the cover price alone. Great revision of this essential camping guide. Now it features more
campsites across England (70 rather than the original 40), and some of the originals have been substituted, not sure why? The photos are still first class and the expanded 'handy information' gives a neat little overview of what to do and where to eat & drink we loved a secret little locals pub right on the beach in Dorset, recommended in the guide. The write-up and information for the campsites are accurate, and the authors seem to favour the kind of campsites I prefer - small ones with personality, rather than the large, static caravan type. Unfortunately I agree with the majority of reviewers, this was a disapointing addition to the generally excellent Horus Heresy series. I think this was a real missed opportunity, the Word Bearers have been portrayed through the whole series as one of the prime movers behind the Heresy, and have been meticulously planning and plotting for many years in preperation for the events depicted in this novel. A book written with plenty of detail. I recommend it along with the much talked about book 'SACRED SPACE' by ELIZABETH BAILEY, for the whole complement of beating Depression, Anxiety and Stress.

My friend bought me this book because she knew I was a great fan of Dragons Den and she had seen me consume a fair few bottles of Reggae Reggae Sauce since it hit the shelves.
Firstly I took a flick through the book and read Levi's amazing life story which really helps to give you an idea of the Jamaican culture behind the food. And then I threw myself right in because I was inspired by the food on offer. I prepared a meal for my housemates which they loved. The next day I baked a Jamaican Ginger Cake because I really like the cake you can buy - Levi's recipe is a lot better! Do yourself a favour and put some music in your food! Even though there's no actual way to revise for the UKCAT, the practical examples in this book give you a great idea about what to expect from the exam. Having full practice questions (which you don't get in most books like this) makes you feel a lot more confident about taking the exam and everything's well enough explained to let you understand the questions much better. I'm glad I bought it, now I've just got to get through the exam!

This is a lovely coffee table book, and I enjoyed a good couple of hours flicking through and dreaming of going to all the lovely places in it. However, when I finished I did think it hadn't offered much more than flicking through some travel brochures - something which made me question the price tag when you consider that these can be picked up for free in any travel agents.
All that said it has beautifully shot photos and has the USP of the month by month planner of the best places to go. It also tells you about some of the less well know things to do (although in some cases it misses some of the best out because of it). I would actually give this 3 and a half stars if I could. The first half of the book has an alternative universe thing going on which kept making me think of a high school kid trying to rewrite Terminator it was just so cringey; I think intentionally bad and overdramatic dialogue, plus an old man, August Brill, lying in bed inventing it all.
Yet in the second half, the story became for me much more moving, about family, forgiveness, and the redemptive power of stories. Brill and his grief-stricken granddaughter Katya watch old movies together and re-tell the plots later; the story of Brill's own complicated marriage emerges during a long dark night chat with Katya.
