this book is fantastic, my and husband and I found out very quickly that controlled crying was not an option with our 8 month old baby as she would simply vomit 2 or 3 times if we left her to 'cry it out', and for me, personally c/crying is not fair on a small baby who's only means of communication if she is upset, terrified or in pain is crying. This book helps you to teach your baby to sleep peacefully without crying and really does work!! it is a gentle approach which does require some patience (but belive me it IS definately worth it) and my daughter now goes down at night in her cot awake and puts herself to sleep!! this only took a matter of days! i only wish i had had this book right from the start and will be using the 0-3 month old ... Just as all other Gina books this one follows on fantastically from the Contented Baby book. Just as you start to worry about the toddler years here is the book with all the answers to keep you calm and confident. Very helpful book that Im constantly referring to for different stages of my sons development, filled with loads of advise and tips. My son is a happy confident toddler with a happy contented family around him, what more could you ask for!
I read the reviews and decided to buy the book based on the high proportion of 5* ratings. I was not disappointed!
The book is the size of an average paperback, has a protective clear plastic sleeve, glossy pages, stunning photographs & great summaries on key facts of interest about each bird - definitely the best £7.99 I've spent in a long time!

As many have said in these pages, he does not reveal all, but what he does reveal is enough to start the ball rolling and get you thinking in ways that you woud not have done.
Of course he will not give everything away, that would spoilt it for us all (although I would really like to know how he does these things!).
The book itself is a strange mixture - some techniques are described which would be unique to understand fully and frankly could easy have a chapter each.
On the other hand, some of the most important aspects are given attention for only a bliking of the eye - enough ti tease but not to tell all.
I am really interested in the Mitford Sisters so I have been really looking forward to getting this book. It was much bigger than I expected but was very enjoyable. I admit that I got a bit bored with all the footnotes and about half-way through just started to ignore them unless I was really confused. Through the letters you get to see life from their many different perspectives, it really made me think of the relationship that I have with my own sister and the many times that we have seen the same situation in very different ways. I would recommend this book to people even if they are not a fan of the Mitfords- it gives a really good insight into that period of history.

The first recipe I tried was for a sticky chicken dish, the glaze when made exactly to the recipe was incredibly runny and ended up broiling the chicken, it would never have worked given the amounts of ingredients specified. This same lack of attention was apparent in his wife's book of home cooking too. Very disappointing.

I waited until I had seen the Twilight film to read the books. On the strength of that film I bought all 4 books at once, and immediately tucked in.
There are not quite the words to describe what an impact this has had on me. I am an intelligent independent 26 yr old woman, and I have been captivated like a naive 13 yr old. It feels wonderful! I read all 4 books (some 2200 pages) in 5 days. I barely spoke to anyone, I stopped to make food (but read while I ate). When I finished a book, despite my very sincere intentions to stop a while before starting the next one - I couldn't do it. Stephenie Meyer must have worked witchcraft in her words, because I am addicted. When I finished Breaking Dawn, I felt so strongly that I didn't want to let go of the saga that ... Read More:

This book was passed to me by my Mum who claimed that it was "un-put-downable". I read the book in a matter of hours and must say it is one of the best books I have picked up in a long time. I have never read Peter James before but am now halfway through the second book. In this book, Michael Harrison is left in a life or death situation after four of his friends wind up dead after a Stag night prank gone wrong. The lead detective Roy Grace is a fantastic character and I think he is my new lead hero. Cannot reccomend this book highly enough. The book was fresh and new and the story line gripping and a complete page turner. Peter James has me hook line and sinker.

After reading Robert Harris's novel Pompeii I was keen on gaining more knowledge about both the people and the town that was overcome by the eruption of Vesuvius , so this books publication allowed me that opportunity.
The amount of information conveyed is awesome and the life of the various citizen's of Pompeii is truly bought to life , the book is written in a scholarly way as befits a Cambridge Don but in no way does this get in the way , she paint's a fantastic picture of the place and it's culture , organisation and politics as well as spicing thing's up by many reference's to the sexual liberation of the era.
A very well written book and did everything I asked of it.
