I really enjoyed this book, I think that many of Cecilia Ahern's books have an element of the fairytale in them and I think that you have to accept that before you begin. The characters are really well developed and the fact that you want to see what happens when the two protagonists meet means that you keep turning the pages. Really good book.

This is a little gem of a book; I bought it thinking it would give me helpful ways of knowing and remembering more about grammar - but it's so much more than this. The whole book is about mnemonics and rhymes as memory aids, grouped into 17 themed categories as listed in the contents page, which is viewable on the 'Search Inside' feature. This book is ideal for flicking open and dipping into whatever page it lands on as it not only cites fascinating facts/trivia it also provides the means for remembering them! The fact that Harry Bosch was about to meet Michael Haller was heavily advertised, leaving the author's many fans anticipating another great book from one of the best crime writers currently at the top of his game.
This book hits the spot. I thought 'The Lincoln Lawyer' brought an exciting and intriguing new character in the form of the lawyer, Mickey Haller to the front line. Connelly repeats this and the added bonus of pulling Harry Bosch into the equation is masterful. We thus get the best of both worlds for crime/thriller fans with an excellent courtroom drama from Haller together with the dogged detective work from Bosch leading us to an ending which is both surprising and satisfying. I have often been critical of Iggulden's work - especially this recent series. However, that criticism has been stopped dead in its tracks. This is a stunning book, and perhaps one of the best I've ever read.
Iggulden has finally worked out what he is so good at - describing battles in a breathless and uncompromising fashion. Most of this book is a series of tremedous battles/sieges - and when he does come out of this, he keeps the less interesting interludes brief and concise. One teeny observation which does annoy me - his total fixation with one word - "wince". Surely he can find a substitute for it! This is an excellent purchase, what would you get for under a fiver nowadays? As a novice gardener I found the chapters on planning the gardening year and getting the most from your land absolutely vital.This guide covers the basics in a very comprehensive manner indeed and although a little lacking in the visual side of things the quality of information contained more than compensates.The brief guide to vegetables is excellent and I can safely say this guide will continue to be used as a reference even after my garden is well established.Worth every penny.

I read this when it first came out, and thoroughly enjoyed it, someone borrowed my copy and never returned it - a crime there, surely. It was equally as impresive the second time around although it is dated, the events being almost 20 years ago, and the police procedures and politics being a bit like reading earlier books in Ed McBain's 87th Precient series (e.g., reading about the 50s in the late 70's, the same time gap involved in reading 'Homicide' now). It comes across as a gritty, realistic, not completely flattering account of the officers and their job at that time. Even the postscript updates add to the enjoyment. Although changes were obviously underway even in 1988, it still seems to involve a Force that attempts to investigate and detect crime, rather than 'spin' it. ... Read More:

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter on the basis of the reviews on Amazon. I was not disappointed! It really is easy to do (even if you're not that creative yourself!). Use the stencils to create catwalk sensations - I bought it a week ago and have already sent for the refill pack as we have run out of hangers to display our creations. Loads of fantastic paper, sequins, beads, ribbon and glue (but only 20 hangers). My daughter absolutely loves it and can do it herself without any help - will definitely be buying more for presents for friends etc. Without a doubt this is fantastic value for money and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys craft activities (adults and children). You will not be disappointed!
