This got my 3 1/2 year old laughing in delight at the silly results of his page choices. He would not let me put it down, and though I had initialy bought it as a present for someone else, i will have to buy another copy. He was thrilled to know which stories the pages came from, and mixing them up brought him great entertainment. A big hit.

This is definetly one of the best books that i have ever read. i wasn't sure about reading it in the first place, as when i read the blurb, it seemed a bit wierd and i didn't really understand it.Also it seemed more like an adults book too me,but i am 15 and after the first chapter i really enjoyed it.
However, i hate a book with a sad ending, and this was without a doubt one of those books. It left me crying for ages after i'd read the last page, i just couldn't believe how it ended. I just kept thinking "no, it won't happen". (you'll see what i mean if you read the book). In our house it's called the Great Big Book of Everything. My son is five and we have this book for a couple of years. Thoroughly recommended.

Very much a junior book but very enjoyable and doesn't get too bogged down in making sure it gives the right 'educational' message. I finished this book with a huge smile on my face, as did my 7yr old nephew!

A collection of short stories by some of today's most popular authors... and a good cause thrown in for good measure. This collection is extremely varied, in terms of both writing styles and subject matter, so there's bound to be a few stories in there you'll absolutely love.
My eight year old daughter and I are devoted Michael Morpurgo fans and Kaspar is undoubtedly our favourite so far. Beautifully illustrated and told with great empathy for the human and animal subjects. In all his stories he tackles big issues for children to understand and the portrayal of the sinking of the Titanic is no exception. Even so he kept us both gripped and the ending brought a lump to my throat. Whether you are a devotee or a first time reader you will not be disappointed.

A wonderful read aloud for 1 and 2 year olds. Lovely illustrations and nice story but just doesn't quite have the pazzazz of the gruffalo and her other books (we own the lot). Too basic for my four year old but my one year old really enjoys it.
