I have found that this book appeals to all ages from Year R - Year 6, especially for children with EBSD as there is no threat - just fun and enjoyment.It is also especially useful for children with speech and language difficulties as there is so much to look at,discuss and choose!

This novel reminded me of when I was a child, and I once said to my father that I'd really love to spend the night alone in a Library, being fascinated by books. When asked why, I'd replied by telling him that I believed that all the characters from all the stories came alive during the night and I wanted to see and to meet some of them. I was delighted at the prospect, until that is, my father quite sensibly pointed out by replying there would be many bad and evil characters amongst the good too - and of course he was right! I hate to give bad reviews, but my son and I were pretty disappointed with Superior Saturday. I've read all the series to him as bedtime reading, and we enjoyed them all so far. I don't know what happened with this one. The plot never really took off - are we supposed to get excited about tightening screws in a giant office building? Just when we thought something interesting might be about to happen, the book ended. I guess people who've come this far with the series will read it, and I will still read the final instalment to my son, but we do feel cheated by this obvious filler book.

When I went through the book I could remember the movie played with Renee...Miss Potter. How magicals are drawings and how creative is the story, so easy to get into it! I really recommend this book for kids but also grown-ups. Nice present for Christmas eve I guess.

Like most other reviewers got this as my 4-5 year old began asking questions about what is inside us? what is blood? what happens to our food? Why do we poo?
All these questions, and lots more besides, are answered simply with good instructional pictures which even taught me a few things. Nothing included of a sexual nature but that's fine. All-in-all excellent. >>More Details |

I bought this cookbook for my 14 year old twin sons, who have always enjoyed cooking alongside me, but never attempted anything on their own before.
They both instantly loved this book, saw lots of things that they fancied cooking, but, unlike many other cookbooks, felt confident enough to give them a go. My sons are very dyslexic, but they found the layout easy to follow and the pictures useful. These are not groundbreaking recipes, or even the best renditions of well-known dishes, but they work fine, are well illustrated and introduce young cooks to a range of techniques in a very straightforward, jargon free way. This book is one of the lasting memories of my childhood and luckily I still have the same copy from back then that I can now read to my own children. My youngest is 2 and she sometimes lacks the patience to wait for me to read all the text before jumping ahead to the next page but the charming illustrations enable her to have a good grasp of the story anyway. She loves the Burglar Cat and Burglar Baby.
It will always have pride of place on my bookshelf as it holds lovely memories for me and I hope my children look back on it with fondness in the years to come too. >>More Details |

This is an absolutely brilliant picture book - a crime to solve and illustrations that excite and draw in the child reader.
The story line is that, in a nutshell, branches are going missing from trees in the forest and the animals set about working out who has taken them. Meanwhile, we see bear with an axe, a saw, a pile of paper, and getting cross with an unsuccessful paper aeroplane. Can we, the readers, work out what is going on in the woods before the animals do? The animals identify bear as the culprit and he's taken to the police station and then questioned in court where we learn why he has been taking the branches.
