These audiobooks are brilliant. The voices and narration are wonderfully rich and varied, the stories are incredible and yet still credible enough to work. The pictures painted in the reader's imagination through the vocabulary used by the author are amazing - the reader can almost smell the smells, touch the textures and really *see* the colours within the scenes, and the narrator brings the books to life wonderfully. I now have all 7 of the Alex Rider books on CD, and would recommend any of them to anyone. They are suitable for teen readers, but also perfectly enjoyable for adults - I listen to them in the car on my commute to and from work, and it provides a very welcome distraction from the concerns of work!
This is the 12th book in the series and probably the best so far. Some of the Demonata books were shallow and dull, this was a cracker, Darren SHan was born in London in 1972 and moved to Ireland when he was 6 years old, where he has lived ever since. He started out writing books for adults, and managed to get a couple published. One day, on a whim,he decided to try a book for children. The result was Cirque Du Freak. The rest is history to his real fans

I read this book for two children I was babysitting on Saturday night. I think I enjoyed it more than them! What a fab idea, perfectly written and illustrated. I'm going to be buying this for all the children I know this Christmas.

I was impressed as to how thoughtfully this sticker book had been produced for learning play particularly the 'which picture comes next in the sequence?' options. There are stickers for every page, and some pages have characters to colour according to the added stickers. I cut out the groups of stickers so that they were ready for my two-year-old granddaughter to select page by page, so she needed very little help. We both very much enjoyed the quiet activity, but I have to say, apart from the colouring, the whole lot was accomplished in 20 minutes!

My 11 year old daughter has been receiving Klutz books from Santa Claus for a number of years now and this book like all the others is EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT. Outside the box is the hallmark of Klutz and I wouldn't be surprised to find that all their employees were aged between 8-20 as they really understand the mind of those humans who aren't adults.
I couldn't recommend this publisher enough. On this book specifically, my daughter brought it into school and it was a hit with the entire class of boys and girls.

We bought this for our three-week old when he was two weeks old and he can't get enough of it! He will quite happily lie and stare at the bold, bright images for ages.

Lola is very excited because Marv is bringing his little brother Morten round to play, and Lola has lots of plans for Morten, all of which Morten, who seems to be chronically shy, doesn't seem to have a lot of say in. It ends well, as usual, but with that nicely ambiguous mix of morality and what children are actually like and what children actually do, which makes these books so appealing.
This has the usual top class illustrations. I love Child's style, the cut and paste, scrapbook mixed with line drawing and other media. It's fascinating to see what materials she has mixed up to create such child friendly illustrations. This may seem common now, but this type of illustration and the mixing of font styles and uneven lines of type ... Read More:

This book is an emotional rolarcoaster, brilliantly written and a perfect end to the trilogy. A definate must read!I would strongly recommend reading the first two of the series first though as otherwise the story will not make as much sense.
The characters are all brilliantly developed and very easy to empathise with and the plot is full off lots of twists and turns with an unpradictable ending. Definately worth the money.

I am a Grand Ma and improved my Grand Ma ratings with all my grand children when I gave this to a 7 year old for Christmas. Cool, awsome, and other such things that are not often associated with Grand Ma's. All that said, I enjoyed the book myself as I have a hard and fast rule, don't give anything you would not like to receive. It is also the sort of book you can go back to over and over again, and, I am assured, it has a high swap value!!!
