This book is brilliant for some me-time/time-wasting evenings. I read it over two short evenings when my husband was gaming on the X-Box. It would be equally good on holiday instead of chick-lit or on a wet Saturday afternoon when the children often need attention and you don't want to get into a gripping novel. The chapters are short and therefore not so involved that you want to carry on reading to the exclusion of all else. The book is sometimes informative, but often so laugh-out-loud that the afore-mentioned husband looked away from his gaming a number of times to ask what I had just read.

Nigella does it again. She writes great recipes with such relish and personality to her writing.
I just love her mince pie recipes, the pastry is just superb!!! Also try the Rocky Road recipe, I have tried this from her Nigella Express book but the Xmas recipe for this is even richer!! Sound good recipes, tested and tried out. Great artwork and illustrations, for me it is the best Christmas recipe book I have to date!! >>More Details |

This book is fantastic, alan carr is hillarious!!! Love him hes one of the best comedians out. His book had me laughing constantly, read it in a weekend because I just didnt want to put the book down it was so funny. There are no sob stories just pure comedy, loved it! Would recommend it to anyone.

I felt compelled to review this book because my 4 year old boy loves it so much. Since we discovered "Room on the Broom" 5 years ago with our daughter we have always read and loved JD/AS books in our house. "Snail and the Whale" being another favourite. I can't explain why he loves this book so much (other than the catchy repetitive text and typically beautiful and descriptive pictures)but he insists on having it read to him every night and then reads it himself (well- tries to) and brings it in our room first thing in the morning to be read again! DEEP JOY....

I have been a fan of Fern's for years. I admit I was disappointed when it all came out about her gastric band and I bought the book fearing that it would be a whitewash. It isn't. Fern has not had it easy. The proof that she really is the nice person I always thought she was is that she doesn't point fingers or spill blood and guts in the way that has become commonplace in celebrity biographies which, in my view, is all to her credit. Yet reading between the lines, her father being totally absent, her stepfather being less than easy... I have a much clearer understanding of how she manages to emphathise with people who go on This Morning. Her descriptions of depression so closely mirrored my own that it was a great comfort to me. This is not a good book. I read quite a bit and feel like the book world is going mad if it believes that this book is a prize winner. It reads like a high school students attempt at a novel.....

I studied this period (and this battle in particular) during my history degree in the early 90's and decided that I would delve back in time to remind myself what this was all about. Azincourt was my companion on a return flight to Bahrain recently and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Historically interesting, full of action and detail it really had me turning pages through both flights! When I landed at Gatwick I was disappointed to have to find another book to read. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a passing interest in medieval history, but it's easily accessible to absolutely anyone who enjoys as good action adventure.

Ordered the HSM Annual 3wks ago along with some other items and was told the other items would be dispatched straight away but the HSM Annual would not be sent until at least 1st December,be aware of this delay if you are getting it for someones birthday as theres a chance of it not arriving on time if not ordered early enough.This needs to be bared in mind for Xmas too.
