This is a lovely looking book, the kind you like to leaf through with a coffee and muffin in hand. Many of the recipes are interesting and thoughtful, simply explained and offered with enough space around them so you don't feel you're reading the encyclopedia.
I was happy to see that Grace had opted for fruit sugar in the desserts and even strayed as far as Millet flour. However, this book does rely heavily on the same mixtures of rice\gram\tapioca flour that give that familiar (and not that pleasant) sandy texture and beany flavour. The only gluten free bread recipe offered is a soda bread that I didn't even bother making as I know from experience that it would make a dry, heavy loaf.

As with other reviews I would say that the book is very well laided out.
The receipies are kept to 4 or 5 steps with batches of ingredients being added rather than one at a time. This means instructions are straight forward.
True some of the ingredients can be seen as exotic but most would be found in a supermarket. The point is there is a need to shop and eat differently if you have diabetes. Carrying on as before is not going to help much. I can see some of these meals as becoming regular fixtures to our diet as they are good for me and the rest of the family.
I need some receipies that are different that can be for a special meal that all people can eat. There is a need for more "ordinary" meals but many here are prepared ... Read More:

My name is Jason Vale and I am the author of this book. I don't usually look at my own reviews, but decided to take a little look.
I wrote this book some time ago and I have to agree with some of the comments. The recipe names are extremely bad puns and I cringe myself when I look back at them. I have changed them, but that won't be until the next print run. I have never pretended to be the best writer in the world and I write my books with everyone in mind. One comment I don't agree with at all is the one about this book being copied from Leslie Kenton. I think Leslie is a great author of health, but my books and hers are very different. You will notice that I have only given my own book 3 stars. That's because I feel that's all the book is worth at this ... Read More:

The Allergy-free Cookbook
I throroughly recommend this book to anyone who has family or friends with a food allergy. As the mother of a child with severe egg and nut allergies, I have delighted in finding a book with delicious recipes that can be cooked for the whole family to enjoy. People are truly amazed when they hear the cakes are egg free. The chocolate cake is a must and my daughter now regularly asks to make the fairy cakes. Dorling Kindersley have published it in a highly presentable fashion. Thank you Alice Sherwood for making cooking fun and safe again.

I came across the older edition of this book 4 years ago, skimmed through it, tried it out and gave up within a week. Have just been introduced to it again by a friend (the latest edition) and actually find that I understand the concepts second time around and have just started again. Time will tell if I lose any weight but as for accessibility regarding its philosophy, it may not sink in first time around, but stick with it - it does fall into place eventually.

This is a book i have been looking for, for 10 years or more. If like me you feel as if you have lost something that you had before but are just not sure how to get it back then this book may be for you.
After being plagued by poor health for years, nothing too serious, but in that state where you know that you can and should be feeling better than you do (almost all of the time), I stumbled across the Alexander technique whilst reading other material on Health and well being and put some of the advise into practise.
I felt slightly better and thought there may well be something in this, so i jumped on Amazon and stumbled upon this book.
It has been a revelation and a real eye opener for me as to how to let the Natural Energy ... Read More:

After having thoroughly "digested" D'Dadamos ER4YT book I obtained this to check it out. In this book he further expands on the principles outlined in the first an provides an excellent section full of meals for us too.
What impresses me most about the meals is that the vast majority of them call for the bare minimum of low cost ingredients that we purchase as a matter of course in our weekly shopping in any way - so no need for some expensive ingredients like many of the diets out there call for - on the whole these recipes are highly able to be incorporated into any eating plan!
The ER4YT book was a good start but if found this one to be more informative in many areas - I can't recommend the one over the other though - I would have to recommend ... Read More:
