ok...these books have been reprinted and made generally more up to date
1st theres Dark Angel where an "angel" helps normal boring Gillian become more popular and confident.
2nd one is The Chosen. This is my favourite out of all the Night World books so far. It's about vampire hunter Rashel who finds out her soulmate is evil vampire Quinn.
Finally theres Soulmate where Hannah Snow realises she has had many lives and that he soulmate Thierry has been searching for her in all of them.
I love all these books not just because of all the romance but they also have action and some of the descriptions are quite gory. I'd recommend them to anybody as they are brilliant (:
I came to this book after reading Twilight and it is difficult to avoid making comparions. For a vampire novel to succeed, it has to make the reader believe that there are areas on the fringes of society where the supernatural can exist and where humanity can take strange and different forms. These areas need to be described in dark and atmospheric language allowing readers to imagine the locations and characters clearly.
In my opinion Richelle Mead's novel lacks the atmosphere and implicit sense of menace that is needed for an effective vampire tale. The Vampire Academy is described briefly and it seems a curious combination of ancient and modern with dark buildings and internet connections suggesting that supernatural beings depend on human ... I have to agrees with everyone else's comments on this page, I first read these books when I was about 13 and I LOVED them. They totally draw you into their world. There is a poem in one of the books that I can still recite off by heart all these years later which I often write when asked what my favourite poem or quote is - very sad I know! I actually searched for them on here having read the Twilight series and again have to say I agree with what others have said, Bella has to be one of the wettest, most boring, most difficult to empathise with characters I have ever come across and I read A LOT. After reading the Meyer books I felt the need to return and reread the far superior Nightworld series. However, I have to wonder if maybe the Nightworld series ... Read More:

well, i thought the first one was good, but this just gets better. the second book has a kick-ass title which totally beats the title of the first book. and okay, i'm not an emotional person most of the time (apparently, i possess the emotional range of a teaspoon), but this book made even me cry. anyone who liked the first book will like this one too. can't wait for the third!

From the first moment in book one, Lord Loss, when Grubbs Grady encounters the Demonata and their evil minions it is obvious to the reader that Darren Shan books are from a different dimension. You really have to read them with an open mind, and a slightly twisted one too! The heroes are constantly changing, from Grubbs in book one to Kernel Fleck in book two, back to Grubbs in three and then Bec in some of the later episodes. Whoever is in charge you can absolutely guarantee a frightening ride through another world, which Shan depicts so very well. As far as teenage horror goes this is about as entertaining as it gets. You cannot compare it to the real horror masters, such as James Herbert, Shaun Hutson, Brian Keene or Conrad Jones, but they are truly entertaining, ... Read More:

After Stardust (a film that sounds awful but is actually very good) I was given this book to try. It is written by Neil Gaiman, who the Times newspaper said was the best thing since J.K. Rowling.
Well I have to say I was fairly dissapointed. Some are good and well thought out but others are deadpan, middle of the road and to put it into one word: Boring. Mediocre. Not what I was expecting at all. I think that he can only be brilliant when he has a team of other writers behind him.
Thanks for reading my review. I hope this has helped.

Even though this is the third book in the series the plot is still interresting. The characters are well developed if not slightly annoying at times - but then again who isnt?
Some new characters are added which makes the plot line slightly more interresting and i am still amazed at the fact the books glow in the dark - simple things :P.
I will be buying the forth book in the collection and they illuminate my bookcase - gedit ?
Id love for people to share their views on this book by leaving a comment on my review.
