I expected this book to be full of thrifty tips and details of how to do things the old fashioned way, like clean with lemons and vinegar, taken from Mrs. Beeton's original 1861 book. Sadly this is not the case. It is very bland, not particularly insightful or useful, and contains information about microwaves and air freshening gadgets which I'm certain wouldn't have been in the original book!
I was very disappointed by this book. I read through it in an hour and I doubt I'd pick it up again.
