I've read a lot of decluttering books to motivate me to get of my junk and some have been really helpful for a time. However, they've all concentrated on 'the stuff'. Peter Walsh approaches the problem from the other side, on how you would like your house to look and the purpose/functions of each room (if it wasn't full of stuff!). Importantly he also points out that different family members can see a different purpose for the same room and so see different things belonging there.
Taking the concentration off of 'your stuff' seems to make it so much easier to let go of it. I have pretty painlessly got rid of bags of stuff that I've had real trouble letting go of before. My house seems so much lighter!

I was bought the hardback version by my husband (whom I think was hinting at something)and I have to admit, I was very annoyed at the start by his kind gesture! But...upon actually dipping into the book, I find I thoroughly enjoy reading all the hints and tips and actively clean our home using Kim & Aggies advice. I even buy denture tablets to pop down the loo at night for a sparkling pan!

If you are seriously thinking of getting to grips with the black hole that is 'the wardrobe' then get this book. It is clear, well written and full plans and ideas that are 'doable' for us mere mortals that have black holes instead of wardrobes. Making the most of limited space and getting your money to go further. Also includes some interesting fashion tips to pull a contemporary and flattering look together. It is a project, rather than a mere book. If you are already organized and have a spic and span wardrobe, (well good for you!), but you might still find good tips and suggestions to improve an already perfect system.

A fantastic book for those of us with green tendencies. A lot of the mixtures/ingredients listed in this book are more effective than both branded green products and major brand non-environmentally-friendly products.
The ingredients you'll need are cheap, just like this book, so you'll save money, too.
You cant help but be inspired to get tidy with this gem of a book. Some tips are satisfyingly easy to achieve, others take a bit more effort. What I like is that there is an encouragement for everyone in the household to take responsibility.

I was stuck at home, off sick for 4 LONG weeks with a massive chest infection. Being a chronic asthmatic, this was not good! I decided to rid my cupboards of all those choking cleaning products which were making my quality of life even lower. The alternatives in supermarkets were limited.... and pricey! I remembered my mum using bicarb and vinegar to freshen up sink drainage systems, and scrunched newspapers for the final wipe-over for newly cleaned windows, but what else?
The answer was this book.... clearly written, basic products (you can get Dr Bronner's soap on Amazon!) that are very reasonably priced, and you know EXACTLY what goes into the solutions you make.
