The "colouring book" series is a godsend to students tired of laboriously trawling through text books. For anatomy the diagrams are clear and accurate and the systems sections add depth of knowledge. I think they're great!

I got this book a month ago and found it extremely helpful. It's great to carry around with you on the wards and refer to quickly should you need to.
It covers the duties of FY1 and FY2, examples of a pre- and post-foundation cv, how to write notes, discharge summaries, dealing with being on-call,referrals, miscellaneous conditions in medicine, surg and A&E, basic procedures, lab test interpretation and lots lots more. Get it if you want some insight into what foundation posts entail. It's great.

a very good introduction in terms of getting you interested and it is fairly easy to understand. for someone with no previous knowledge of any biology it might seem a bit heavy but as long as you concentrate in the harder places it's not a problem. obviously it doesn't give a complete overview and some areas have to much or too little focus but it is an interesting and enthusiastic introduction which is a good way to decide if you are really interested in this kind of stuff, and if you are it points you in the right direction well with a further reading list. so if you have always wondered about how your brain and neuronal sensory and motor systems work this give you a good way to ease into the area, and will take you at most a two evenings ... This book provides plenty of practice on all clinical topics relevant to the GPST stage 2 selection process. Just enough explanations to highlight the salient points, without drowning the reader with loads of facts which can be easily found in textbooks such as the Oxford handbook. Going systematically through each specialty was an excellent way of revising for the exam.

This text is excellent for revision in the 6 months prior to the intercollegiate fellowship exam. It is necessary to have read other fuller texts first but for final cramming and quick reference for memory joggers it can't be beaten. One word of warning however: there are a number of errors in the text which I found useful prior to the exam. The better I knew the material, the more errors I found! Despite this, the book is invaluable.

The previous issues have ben excellent and this is by far the best on the maket now. It is obviously suitable for undergraduate immunology modules but I have also found it to be excellent as a resource for HND/HNC type courses and for the background information for MSc students. The integrated CDROM is excellent although I had a bit of bother getting the movies to work directly (had to go through the book menu, rather than just clicking on a movie). Good quality graphics and slide presentations.
