The translator in this book was Lionel Giles, I have his translation of this, in a more extensive version. The translation I have is most amusing because Lionel Giles enters into discussion of the commentaries and also enters into a critique of the other contemporary (circa 1908) and prior translations. Lionel Giles is bitchy and vituperative about the other European translators (particularly one unfortunate Captain Calthrop), which is most entertaining to read. The Art of War itself is a short book, and Giles' translation is probably as good as we are going to get, so if the book itself is all you need, get this. Do not be put off by the title and the cover - this is not a 'pulp' production (my mum called then penny dreadfuls!). This is an intelligent and easy to read book about Freemasonry. Most importantly it reveals the Scottish origins of what is now commonly known as the 'Craft'. The author is the Curator of the Grand Lodge of Scotland and his knowledge shines through in this book. I think that much more could have been made of this - why no hard back book? Why no colour pictures? Why is it so short? Well, I am being picky but the fact remains that this book is what the Americans call 'lite' (as in lite beer( and the book should have been much larger in text and sizr with big colour pictures. This is the first book of Krishnamurti I have ever read and I must say it's increadibly refreshing and inspiering...
After reading this thin little book I decided to write my final dissertation on utopian concept of new education system based on Krishnamurti teachings and Rudolf Steiner approach. It is a very well written book, and yet, there is so much more that could be added to it. A lot of folklore from Britain, but more so from Asia and Africa is left out. The book is a great read, but I was most upset about it being so racially alien to practicers of the craft from Britain. Britain is a multicultural society - the US is supposed to be too - but you wouldn't realise it by the bias and information left out by Scott. It almost makes me want to sit down and write my own book to fill in all the gaps I found. However, that said, it is an excellent starting point, and one that I would recommend if you do not want to know anything about the rest of the world.

I definitely highly recommend "...And the Truth Shall Set You Free". Even though some of his ideas might seem a little strange and far fetched (remember, it must be taken with a pinch of salt), most of the information and the general message of the book cannot be dismissed. The subjects dealt with are at the base of todays society. Do not ignore it! It might make you slightly paranoid, but isn't the Truth worth it? Enough double-thinking, it's time for people to deviate from the norm and think for themselves! A life-changing book.

Possibly not fully recognised for his sense of humour in his day, this book is one of The Great Beast's best. It contains the beautifully constructed "ONION-PEELINGS", which I can honestly say makes me cry with laughter every time I read it, and even thinking about it causes me to guffaw uncontrollably. If you're a tight-wad and don't want to buy the book just yet, just do a google search on "Onion Peelings" to see what I mean - oh how we laughed outwardly, yet cried inwardly.

was highly impressed with insights and suggestions on this recording. One can put only so much information on one CD and for what you can learn and experience as a newcomer to Shamanic journeying in a little bit more than ONE HOUR, I have found this CD awesome.
I particularly liked suggestions relating how to ask good questions and set an intent for a journey. One particular suggestion would apply to any form of divination. For example, if you ask your spirit helper (power animal, etc.) "Should I marry so and so?", the spirit helper may say "Sure, go ahead". Lama Yeshe talks with amazing lucidity and clarity on the complex teachings of the tantric path of Tibetan Buddhism. Read this book to clearly show you the difference between "clasical Buddhist tantra" and the "neo tantra" (tantric sex) that is now being taught in the West. Seemingly the two are very different and have little in common. For example, many Tibetan buddhist's want to distinguish themselves from neo tantra and tantric sex. ...The book reads quite like a textbook, but contains many interesting facts and hypotheses as posed by scholars. His views are fairly even-handed and he presents all sides equally, and in a well written prose. If you are getting this, you must get the companion too, as this often provides graphical representations as well. An Excellent book. There are a few places, for example the propaganda issue, where not all topics are covered in as complete a detail as possible, but the book is great for students for material, and references.
