I made the mistake of buying this book. As with other Gina Ford books if your child doesn't conform to her regime you feel inadequate and disappointed. She advises on day one (after they have proved they can do wee and poos on potty) to confine toddler in one room all day and repeatedly put them on the potty!! No way! I think I lasted half an hour and I got cabin fever. I found "No-cry Potty Training Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Child Say Good-bye to Diapers" by Elizabeth Pantley far more helpful and reassuring. Gina Ford does make things seem so easy, but she isn't training her own child and the whole thing can get emotional. In the Pantley book she says it can take up to 12 months before they get completly dry and with some I think it's ... Read More:

I read this book a few years back and used the CD, actually I didnt even finish it so some might say I shouldnt review the book but actually I got what I needed from the book & CD, clarity. I'd been working in a job for a while that I didnt like, living in a nice place with no one to share my life with. This book made me take stock of my life and I subsequently worked really hard in my work and saved to go travelling for a while outside the demands of normal society. I then went on to do things I always wanted to do such as give up drinking, commit to a relationship and finally pursue a career in nutrition...I'm still working on the third one as I am in the middle of a course but the point is this book made me stand up and say to myself I'm not happy, ... What an amazing read. If you are new to DSLR or photography in general and you have the D40/X you must own this book. Full of concise step by step easy to read instructions on getting the most out of your camera. I can't put it down. Learn how to use the basic dials on your camera and take great shots. Then when you feel more comfortable with it move on to more indepth actions on exposure, lighting, composition etc. Each chapter lets you feel your way in to the subject so you don't feel rushed. This allows you to understand everything easier and that way you feel like you are actually learning something and remembering it. You really can't do without this book. An amazing read. I love it as much as the camera itself.I would pay double for this book. Get it now!

In the final installment of Princess Dairies, Princess Mia Thermopolis goes through some pretty intense and stressful times that all students go through- choosing a college to go to after graduating from high school. But Mia has got more on her plate than she can deal with; she's stressed about her father's political campaign. She's worried about her repeatedly rejected novel that she has written for her final senior project, the extravagant party Grandmere is throwing her for her upcoming eighteenth birthday, and oh, the fact that Michael Moscovitz has come back from Japan, and she suddenly misses sniffing his neck when she already has a boyfriend whom she actually cares about. How will Mia solve her entangled issues in this gripping finale, and will she achieve the ... Read More:

This is Professor Dawkins' finest piece of work. Not only does he provide his own knowledge and ingenious thinking, but he also ties together the works of Darwin, Hamilton, Fisher, Trivers, and many other great revolutionary Evolutionary Biologists. As a Geneticist, I have studied many of the phenomena that Dawkins discusses, and it is amazing that science has uncovered many of them as late as 30 years after the first publication of this great book.
It is not just Genetics which has had components perfectly explained by this text, but also many other branches of Evolutionary Biology, such as Ethology and Molecular Evolution. A wonderful read, explained so simply and eloquently by arguably the world's greatest Popular Science writer; a book that Carl Sagan himself ... Read More:

This is another great read by CJ Sansom. As Matthew Shardlake travels to Yorkshire there are some interesting encounters ahead! The author brings to life the wide cultural differences, the religious and political problems and difficulties of distance in Tudor England. I particularly enjoyed the details of the huge Court following the King around the country. Highly recommended.

Jamie Oliver is the chef for the average person. I love Italian food but find most recipes expensive or too time consuming not to mention too extravagant for what I want. This book is now my joint favourite cook book along side Jamies Ministry of Food it's simple easy to follow and the pictures make your mouth water. Keep up the good work Jamie.

1984 is one of those brilliant books that forces you to continually reassess your life and everything in it. This is the second time I have read it and I am noticing different things this time round. It seems to gain relevance at a startling speed, giving the narrative a sort of spooky prophetic feel.
Everyone should read 1984 at least one in their life. Its vital literature for anyone who has any interest at all in the human condition or current affairs...
Yes its a bit depressing but at the same time it offers hope. mad I know but true. read it and you'll understand what I mean!

This book is really well written and includes some amazing photos. As an individual who has travelled to many parts of the world it was fun to tick off some of the adventures as well as inspire further trips. What is also good is the adventures are varied so for the adrenalin junkies, there is the bungee jump featured in james bond's goldeneye to tick off. For others punting the river cam in cambridge.
