I bought this for my 5 year old granddaughter and she loves it. After finding Wally on every page she then has a list of characters to find on each page. She never tires of this book.

My 2 year old Son has this little set of board books. He likes to empty them out of the box and then put them back in. The stories are only short(4 pages long) but my Son enjoys listening to them. I would say they are only suitable for under 3's.

This book has beautiful illustrations and my son loves it. The story is a good one for children who are a bit worried about the dark. However I bought this thinking it would be the same as the one I read as a child, but with nicer illustrations. Unfortunately the story itself seems to have lost some of the more humourous aspects that I remember, like Plop the owl resembling a Catherine wheel when he tumbled out of a tree and his incessant "what's next" at feeding time...gone. I'm thinking about buying the old copy to read (mine is worn out) and showing the pictures from the new book to my son.

I enjoyed reading these poems as a child, and now have enjoyed reading them again. The illustations are beautiful and the poems include interesting facts about the flowers/trees.

Apart from the Americanisms (diaper) and the fact the illustration does show an old fashioned 'po' as opposed to a potty - this book is fabulous. One read of it and my very resistant son was sitting on the potty with his clothes on which no amount of bribery had encouraged him to do before, a day later and another read of the book and he was sitting on the potty with no nappy on and understanding what he was supposed to do - still waiting for him to do it now but an excellent start after only 48 hours of receiving the book!

I adore this book and it has been cherished and read again and again for my 2 daughters. They found the idea of Bernard's parents not noticing he'd turned into a monster very funny and not at all sad or scary. I personally don't think there is any sinister message here - all kids know of the feeling of being ignored by their parents at some point in their lives!!

Not too long, nice and colourful, descriptions in the text match the look & feel of the materials used in the books - my daughter has loved this book since she was 8 months old, and she still loves it at 2 years! The series of 'Touchy-feely' books is just great!

The Tale of Peter Rabbit was written in 1900 and has stood the test of time very well. Generations of children have loved the story of Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle-Duck among others and treasured the books of Beatrix Potter. It is up there among the greats of children's literature with Wind in the Willows, The Water Babies, Peter Pan, Treasure Island and many others. In these days of computer games and electronic toys of one kind or another, books sadly are sometimes not as high on the list as they were a few years ago, perhaps that is why literacy in schools is not all that it could be. This book was a disappointment. I bought the board book version expecting something similar to "The very hungry caterpillar" which my one year old adores. This book is much longer, the writing is not suitable for reading to a one year old, much less clear and much harder to follow the story. I think this book would be more suitable for 4 years plus, though why they need it in board book form at that age is beyond me.
