This is a book essentially about after-life contact from loved ones and angels. The book explores every aspect of this form of communication, whether the reader is simply interested or has a personal reason for contacting a recently departed loved one.
Jacky Newcomb writes in a friendly, chatty and relaxed manner which sometimes makes you feel as if you are with her when she is writing the book! She has an easy to read, clear and concise style which makes the book very accessible.
The most compelling and unique aspects for me were the amazing true-life stories of after-life communication which Jacky sourced from stories all over the world. These were woven seamlessly throughout the text and I would think that anyone who has recently ... Read More:

This must be a contender for the worst book I've ever read. I read 'The Alchemist' by the same author largely because it appeared in the 'BBC 100 favourite reads' poll and was described as 'life changing'. I didn't like it, but thought this may just be due to the fact that the story is a cross between a parable and a self-help book, and decided to give Coelho another go. I shouldn't have bothered!
The story here is of a naive young Brazilian girl wanting to make some money by travelling to Switzerland ostensibly as a dancer, but soon becomes involved in prostitution. It's full of unbelievable scenarios and characters, some of which are frankly risible, mixed with a generous dose of half-baked adolescent philosophy. The heroine moves from ... Read More:

I'm sure the theory behind this CD is great, its very well put together, and yes, it probably will work for many people.
But I'm afraid Glenn Harrold's accent quite simply drives me mad.
If you're happy being lulled into a trance by a voice that sounds like one of the cast of East Enders, go ahead and invest - but as a Northerner, this just doesn't work for me at all :o(

This was an excellent and highly informative read. Previous reviewers have pretty much covered the aspects and arguments of the book so I won't repeat what has already been said.
Along with E P Sanders' "The Historical Figure of Jesus", I consider Tabor has got the closest to the real Jesus, that is, the Jesus living in first century Galilee. I have no trouble viewing Jesus as both a "viceroy for God" (as Sanders asserts Jesus saw his role as) and a would-be king of an independent Israel with apocalyptic tendencies (as Tabor sees him).
Tabor writes in a scholarly, yet popular and easy to follow manner, which helps to make a difficult subject accessible to scholar and layman alike. The notes and references at the back are plentiful, ... Read More:

This is a watered down version of the power of now, but it is very helpful in that it makes the practice part simpler to understand.
It has all of the key elements from the main book - kind of like a 'best of the power of now'. I find it a handier book to dip into from time to time, it keeps the teaching clear in my mind. Like this, the book Finding Reality is also helpful to keep the practice simple and clear. However this book by E.Tolle will only be useful after reading his first book 'the power of now'.

Even though I have been around the block more than a couple of times with Eckhart's material and spirituality in general, I followed a recommendation and purchased the audio version of this (having picked up the book version in a shop and deciding I don't need it) and now listen to a chapter each day.
It's very nice indeed. It's a nice follow-on from the recent webcasts and one has the luxury of listening to him the whole time without the oprah-atics of having to listen to him being interrupted all the time!

I bought this book as an extra when buying something else. I planned to read it on holiday, but it arrived three days before I left and I made the mistake of dipping into it beforehand. It was a mistake because my total absorbtion in this autobiography left me with no more than a few pages to read on my trip. It is a long time since I learned so much from a book. Ayaan writes simply, and without rancour about a life that appears beyond belief to a western male. It is a wonderful, literary achievement that deserves our attention.

The self-help genre rightly attracts a lot of criticism; there are a lot of charlatans out there. 'Flow', however is a book which clearly stands out. Csikszentmihalyi speaks with tremendous authority, and his education clearly extends well beyond psychology. But most importantly the book isn't about providing false hope by offering miraculous quick fixes which don't work. The book is just about educating the reader, so they they may make their own informed decisions about how to improve their lives.
The author speaks to you with a very sympathetic tone. He presents a secular, liberal acccount, but what may come as a surprise is that there is quite a lot of moralising in the book. He seems to mention on what seems like every page how much of a waste of time it is ... Read More:

David Icke covers the Illuminati hybrid bloodlines, reptilians & ETs, mind control, satanic rituals, ancient civilisations, the global political and economic machinations, secret societies, the assault on our health and ability to use higher consciousness, and much more. He even exposes the man-made global warming con, and how the "boom or bust" economy is manipulated, and its purpose. Icke offers clear, concise overviews of the "new physics" and the nature of how vibratory reality is generated, with his use of the hologram and matrix metaphors. Icke expects a global awakening and in a small segment of the population this is apparently occurring.
Icke is the one "conspiracy researcher" who has developed a relatively advanced spiritual awareness from which he can ... Read More:

My friend gave me the first one of these to read and then I simply kept returning to her house so i could read the next book- they are that good, they are the best series I've read for a long time. I disagree with the comment about the book about Mary- I really enjoyed it, it made me think and understand so much more, (it was one of my favourites, my other being ruth). Though of course the comment that you have to remember that these are only based on the bible is very true, it is always important to question things, but having said that i found her research to be incredibly thorough and thought provoking, and with every christian both fiction and non fiction book sermon etc you need to assess the information your being presented with so i didn't find that a problem. Can't wait ... Read More:
