A good one to recommend to anyone interested in Wicca, and suitable for the teen-market, this book contains a good mix of common sense and magical recipes. Basic Wiccan concepts are explained, alongside motherly advice on hygiene and diet. The lists of colour and scent correspondences which will remain useful even once the reader has done further reading, and activities such as the making of charm-bags and candles will allow the reader to begin making magic at once. There are also recipes and suggested menus for each of the Wiccan festivals.

I was mislead by the title and expected a bible (well, ok, extracts)for children. I did not expect retellings of the stories with inaccuracies thrown in. Correct me if I am wrong, but nowhere, for example, does it specify THREE Kings in the Nativity. Three gifts, yes, but not kings. Or Magi. Nit picking? Probably, but why make up details that are not in the original text?
IF the book had been titles "stories from the Bible" I would not have bought it and would have avoided disappointment.
On the plus side the illustrations are very pretty and 'tis true my children enjoy listening to the stories, even if they are read by a grumpy old pedant like me.

I found this book extremely helpful and recommend it to everyone wishing to develop their psychic skills which we are all born with. Most of us just don't realise that they have these skills. But there is a reason why I have only given it four stars instead of the deserved five. I bought this for my wife, we are both interested in this kind of thing but my wife has read book after book about afterlife and angels etc since our daughter died 2 years ago. she couldn't put Allison's book down, she cried reading the parts about children, (obviously) but the way Allison writes in a very gentle and calming way, it put my wife's mind at a bit more ease that Caitlin is still around us, she even began to feel her presance when she knew what signs to look for after reading this fantastic volume. I've since bought her all of Allison's books.
