I was introduced to this book when I worked on a kid's camp in America for underprivileged children. This was one of the 'night time sories' that were read to the older kids and teens. This book is aimed at some of the problems and situations faced by teenagers, but I am 22 years old and can still relate to so much of this. I am truly amazed by how I can re-read pages of this book and still cry at the stories, (happy tears), even though I know the ending. Whenever I need a pick-me-up, corny as it sounds, this is the book I turn to as it really does "restore your faith in human nature". This has now become a book that my whole family enjoy reading and discussing as well as the friends I have introduced this to.

First things first, I completely agree with the many positive reviews already posted. Although I wouldn't have expected it from such a short little book, reading this has taught me simple techniques that have changed my life for the better and made me happier day to day and moment to moment. Hence five stars doesn't really seem enough!!
To review this book from the context of my own life, I have been practicing Buddhism for about a year now. Naturally I have made myself familiar with the theory, and try to practice it, for the benefit of myself and others. Rather than giving a complete overview of Buddhist thought (as many books do), this particular book focuses on just one of the eight practices of the Noble Eightfold Path: Right ... Read More:

We had been told time and time again that Bethany diet would not in any way be making her Juvenile Arthritis worse. However after reading your plan and realising that although I though I was giving her a healthy diet she was having a lot of citrus foods. We have been following for 4 days and we are seeing an improvement already. Having a young child on so many drugs and injections is a real worry and if this will help even a bit it will be the answer to all our prays.

Death by Love is unique so far among Mark Driscoll's books, refraining from his normal humour because of the seriousness of this book.
Taking the format of letters to actual people from Driscoll's church he follows the example of the Apostles who wrote much of the New Testament in response to questions & difficulties of the Church around them.
The chapters are so:
Introduction
We Killed God: Jesus Is Our Substitutionary Atonement
"Demons Are Tormenting Me"
Jesus Is Katie's Christus Victor
"Lust Is My God"
Jesus Is Thomas's Redemption
"My Wife Slept with My Friend"
Jesus Is Luke's New Covenant Sacrifice
The book recommends you be selective about which chapteras you read but after reading the 1t chapter i decided I had to read them all incase I missed something. Great book and it's in my top drawer at work so I can keep referring to it!

This is an unbelievably huge book which is chock full of content.
I am a Wiccan and bought this book as use as a reference text for my spells and rituals however upon reviewing the book i feel it is best used as a basis for making your own spells as the majority of the spells in the book are, i feel not very useful on their own. 5000 sounds like ALOT of spells, which it is, however there are many, many 'spells' which are one-liners and seem to state a belief as opposed to being a spell i.e. Birth Chamber Protection Spell with Fir Needles: Burn silver fir needles during childbirth to protect mother and child and Boat Protection Spell Rope: Pass the entire boat through a rope circle for safety and protection.
This book is so helpful!! I'm a non catholic teacher, teaching in a catholic primary school and have very little knowledge about catholicism!! This book explains the basic things that I need in order to teach religious education and has been a God send!!! One of my colleagues who is catholic thought the book was great and is going to buy one too!! I would definately recommend this book, especially if you know absolutely nothing about catholicism, like me!! :-)
