Somehow I identified with all of the life-traps and so therapy beckons? The more I read the more any optimism I'd held began to evapourate. Hopefully though anyone who wishes to adopt the steps to change their lives has fewer schemas than I, even with one life-trap it would take grinding hard work to escape from it. This book is simply boring ! Got nothing from this book and can't see why it has got such a good reviews. I purchased based on the rating and was so disappointed - basically says think big, almost no case studies or interesting facts, says nothing of any interest and it a total bore - do not buy !

This book has been well laid out and is easy to read and follow the music. The selection of caols will appeal to many, both old and young. It is used in our school choir for the boys as well as the adults.

This is a very well researched book on the nature of reality. He shows scientific experiments to prove the existence of an underlying field of energy which he calls the Divine Matrix. Braden postulates that we all affect this 'Matrix' with our thought and emotion - we are all a part of this matrix - all interconnected (and he proves it!).
To the new comer and even those who have heard of this material before, the proof can be quite startling (and inspiring). This is a good book for taking false assumptions out of spirituality. He demystifys this topic and takes the religiosity out of it. The delivery is very strong and he takes a look at life, pshycology and spirituality with the eye of one who has gone well beyond the accepted norm concerning these subjects. It's a simple book anyone could intellectually grasp, and maybe even be able to spiritually apply.
This is a book about 'waking up' and enlightenment as De Mello calls it, so it really hasn't anything to do with religion ~ so the review someone else left about it not being accepted by the church ~ Who Cares? Really all the word "God" means is "Good" as in "Positive Energy"! So there doesn't have to be anything religious about the term!
As always Doreen has produced a great work. I do the morning and evening meditations daily if I can. The change it sets in motion is on a very deep level which you don't notice at first. Then you begin to notice little things happening all around you. Perhaps your mood or energy level lifts, your environment and the people around you are more positive, you find yourself in the midst of positive joyful experiences, you have a clarity of mind that you didn't have before. I agree with other reviewers: this book is worth your money.
The four agreements go like this: Be Impeccable with Your Word; Don't Take Things Personally; Don't Make Assumptions; and Always Do Your Best. I read it again once I'd finished it because the four agreements can change one's life for the better. I've already noticed benefits in my daily life and in my relationships (especially the one with myself.) The author writes in a very simple way (no literary intentions here); and what he says and shares regarding each agreement makes all his messages sink in. What gives this book a very distinguished credibility and authenticity is the pertinent fact that the author formulated his ideas while as a Holocaust prisoner. Immediately the reader is taken out of the comfort zone as the captive and dehumanising realities of such a barbaric context are presented.
Frankl looks very very deeply at what provides human strength to get over the most forlorn, hopeless and torturing circumstances. Nietzche's dictum "What doesn't kill us only make us stronger?" planted itself in my mind throughout this book and just did not move. It's very difficult to find any sort of fault with any story where humanity can triumph inhumanity, it really is. There's just such a sense of sadness and misery that the fact that someone ...
