This is an amazing book. A beautifully written love story that also builds you and challenges you spiritually as you read it! Perfect. I could not put it down and sobbed for the last few chapters. Cant wait to read more from this author.

Bought this book with good expectations as I had found her previous book Sinful Sex very useful. Found that this book is basically a republication of Sinful Sex less the line drawings, which I personally considered one of the most useful parts of Sinful Sex.

The Prophet is about a mysterious religious thinker who is about to leave for his native land. Before he goes, many people have just one question to ask him. In a very few words, he tells them his accumulated wisdom primarily in a nondenominational way. The only exceptions come in the references to rebirth. The essence of each brief lesson is that we have to step outside of our own perspective to see things in the way that God does and wants us to.
Let me give you an example. When someone transgresses either man's laws or God's laws, we tend to condemn the person harshly and focus on punishment. This is like treating the person as though they have fallen below some level of what it is still to be human. Yet no one does anything worse than ... Read More:

I wonder if my writing a review for this book is a waste of time. There are already so many giving this book and it's authours all of the praise they're due!
Bravo!
But I love this book so much I just have to talk about it!
Here we see a collaboration between Gaiman and Pratchett so cleverly written and elaborate. Many strands of story converging together in a well ordered and thought-ahead way. Something hard for one writer to convey on his/her own let alone having to confure with co-writer on a different continent.
Some obvious Pratchett style writing - obvious Gaiman Style and some, where the writers themselves are said to not know who wrote it.
As if the book wrote, grew and evolved all on its own.

I was very dissappointed with this cd, considering the good reports from the book (which i have not read) i was quite excited when i got the cd home and was looking forwards to listening too it. But my excitement soon turned to disbelieve though as i attempted to get "into it" i just couldn't beleive how boring it was, both stephen covey's voice (as someone else has already pointed out!) and the layout of the information presented on the cd, which i actually thought at times came across as quite patronising and utter rubbish! it reminded me of one of my university lecturers who's lesson we all used to fall to sleep in! and like a badly put together presentation (as someone else has also pointed out) and not a motivational tool for improvement, it just seemed ... If I had to buy just one of these types of CDs then I would get this one. Whether you are a novice or more advanced, this is one to buy. You choose at the beggining of the meditation what you need to focus on or work on, or approach it to the whole of your life. Brilliant.

As an atheist, I was drawn to this book through the endorsement of Richard Dawkins - an endorsement I find baffling. As a number of reviewers have noted this book does not remotely deserve to be bracketed with The God Delusion and other sober critiques of religious faith.
The biggest clues to Harris' agenda are revealed by the 'authorities' he invokes to buttress his opinions: the discredited pro-Israeli 'scholar' Daniel Goldhagen; the tub-thumping neo-conservative Thomas Friedman; the Zionist Alan Dershovitz (a man demonstrably shown to have manipulated historical sources in constructing a fervent defence of Israel), and Samauel Huttington.
It is not suprising given these bed-fellows that Harris allows himself to entertain the most ... Read More:

I read about Erickson as the pioneer of NLP, and his work in hypnosis and psychotherapy and was intrigued. This book is a great introduction to Erickson. His style of communication which involves the use of skilfully vague language patterns, rapport skills, and conversational hypnosis techniques, forms the basis of the Milton Model in NLP.
These stories are case studies, people with all sorts of problems, and very interesting solutions, and great stories.
This guy is a genius. From bedwetting to alcoholism, to repression, I was particularly inspired by a very short story about the Turmahara Indians, and how knowing and thinking about their special abilities can increase your energy levels. If it works for me, it might work for you.
