The book has a strong Asian flavour, particularly in noodles. It does have a number of dishes which are tasty and innovative - including Chinese, Vietnamese and other Asian (such as Malaysian). However the strength of the book lies in its range of recipes which are simple to follow and quick to prepare.

I'm very ruthless when it comes to assessing cookery books. I am always trying to find a balance between tasty recipes and ease of sourcing ingredients. This books looks like it has some lovely recipes in, but the ingredients lists are just too long for me. I'm not keen on buying ingredients to use only once - say mung bean noodles; there are plenty of recipes in this book where i'd be doing that. I like variety in my meals and am not going to be cooking from any one book on a frequent basis, therefore i'd just end up with stacks of half used ingredients in the cupboard. I also can't be bothered to go to all the shops i'd need to visit to get some of the ingredients required, e.g. Thai Sweet Basil leaves - never seen them in my nearest Waitrose ... Read More:

An EXCELLENT book, humorously written, packed full of fascinating detail and brimming with the author's enthusiasm for the band. Yoo will NOT find a better book on Black Sabbath than this, and even if you're not a fan of the band this is a ripping read. Older, more established Sabbath freaks will read this and go back to the records with fresh ears, hearing and understanding new things about the music. A truly sensational achievement from an astounding author. The best book on rock I have ever read.
