This is a truly spectacular book - simple, clear and concise. There is no long winded explanations about glasses, tools, spirits etc. Just the basics, enough to get you started and keep you interested in the art of cocktail making.
Admittedly, this art is something that need little encouragement, but still we want to be entertained while being educated. I think this book does just that aided by some 100 beautifully taken colour pictures.
There are over 200 cocktail recipes and I dare say that you will find even the most obscure concoctions from faraway lands. There are tall drinks, spirits, classics, exotics and alcohol-free potions for the morning after!

Mr Kammerling has focused on class cocktails which do not require a lot of preparation nor the purchasing of ingredients which will only be used once and then clutter up your shelves. There is not a sparkler nor umbrella to be found in the book.
It is a "lifestyle" book which includes cocktails for all occasions including picnics and camping.
The book is well laid out and illustrated and is well worth considering for your own use or as a fine present for someone.

Like many I had a bad experience on Tequila as a young man. What I have learned is the stuff I was drinking then isn't comparable to the 100% Agave Tequila readily available today.
The recipes in Margarita Rocks really show off how versatile Tequila is and despite my past have given me a new enjoyment of this most noble spirit.
Amazing book, amazing drinks and beautifully produced. I've also been told the authors have opened their own Tequila bar in London called Green & Red. If the drinks are as good as they are in the book I think I may have found a second home.

I love this book! I have made infused alcohol before using recipes from various sources. Where this book differs is that it includes recipes for using the flavoured alcohol in different cocktails, including both original creations (e.g. Pumpkin Pie and Strawberry Meringue cocktails) and twists on classics (flavoured martinis, Margaritas, and champagne cocktails). You can use different base spirits (vodka, gin, brandy, tequila) etc. to achieve different results and the recipes are very flexible. For example, the recipe for Elderflower liqueur gives variations for Rose, Violet and Lavender (which I made for Valentine's day). Check out Amazon.com where you can look inside the book. This cocktail queen is very pleased with this purchase!
