Rose Elliott is a really fantastic vegetarian Chef & writer, I really wish she had a tv show as well as her great past catalogue of books.
Shes practical & straightforward & her recipies are great fo veggies & non vegetarians alike. Buy the book & be led by the hand by a true talent in the world of Vegetarian food.

Awful awful book. I don't need a "recipe book" that tells me how to create different varieties of veggie burger from pre-bought patties!!
But I don't know what I expected really after reading the first one!
I would recommend avoiding this book like the plague and going for something like Vegan with a Vengeance, La Dolce Vegan or Eat Drink & Be Vegan instead, for recipes that are actually worthwhile.

I'm not a vegetarian, but a vegetarian friend showed me her copy of this book, and I just had to buy it. Every recipe I've tried works fantastically well, and whenever I use the recipes to entertain, they are extremely well received. A number of my friends have now bought the book too. I'm definitely going to buy more of Rose Elliot's books.

Incomplete recipes for turgid slop! I have been a veggie for 22 years, and am a good cook/baker, so I thought I'd try this. It looks like a good idea (if you can get past the pseudo-science in the intro), but the recipes just don't work, that's if she's bothered to finish them - several had bits missing, which is just lazy writing/editing.

I have a few recipe books by Rose Elliot (some from years ago, but more recently The Bean Book and Veggie Chic). I like her ideas, although at times they can become predictable. However, this is a good book and has some excellent quick meal ideas. Great for anyone in a hurry who needs to avoid yet another boring sarnie.

wow! i've got numerous vegan cookbooks, some of which contain the odd valuable recipe, but this is something else. every recipe sounds delicious and they are by no means hard to make. although quite a few of the recipes have fairly long prep times, they are definately worth it. my omni boyfriend is even impressed at his delicious vegan dinner. one really good thing about this book is that at the beggining there are a couple of chapters on how to cook a grain, how to cook a veg, and descriptions of different equipment you may need. recipes include something for every occasion. Those from the mix and match section are my personal favourites.
so if you are a vegan and need help sorting out your diet and your kitchen this is the book for you. ... Read More:

I bought this book simply because making cheese at home was something I always wanted to have a go at, but never knew where to start. I mean, I know I can go to a cheese-making suppliers, and buy kits, and get recipes off the internet, but what I wanted was just all the details of what I would need and how to go about making cheese, all in one easy chunk.
Enter this book. Quite simply, it is fantastic. There is the right amount of detail at all stages to tell you what you need to do, and what you need to get hold of. The section on the various processes involved in making cheese was perfect, aimed not to high or low, and explained everything exceptionally well. The recipes which finish this book are a good selection, even if it ... Read More:

I've been vegan for just over a year now and I had started to miss things like cheesecake/cakes etc. Then I found this book! It's very easy to follow and the ingredients are all easy to get hold of. Super!

A fantastic book full of advice and recipes in an approachable style. My children are now both at school but we still use recipes (or variations of them) from this book. It helps you through the early days of weaning with lots of suggestions that can be easily fitted around the demands of a young family. It clearly explains what can be added (ingredients and textures) along the way and how to ensure your child has a balanced diet. Many of the recipes can be frozen, which means you can cook in bulk when you have time, and some of those labelled as not suitable for freezing still taste good the second time around.
I have used recipes from this book for my children, their friends, as well as my friends and older family members. They are especially ... Read More:
