This is by far the best cookbook i have and i am not a Hare Krishna. I found the book in a local book shop bought it on impulse. I have tried most of the Dal recepies and found them very good and also very quick. I look forward to trying the others when i get the time.
The pictures are fantastic and everything so well thought out that i can't think of any way to improve it. A friend has recently borrowed the book because the desert section looked so good.
If i could only have one cook book ever this would be the one.

This is a wonderful book for fans of Asian food whether vegan or not. I love having 9 areas of Asia covered in one book. The recipes are well laid out and very easy to follow and most of the ingredients are already in the store cupboard of those of us who cook Asian food regularly so there's no need for lengthy shopping lists - you can just pick up the book and start cooking. Lots of the recipes are pretty quick to cook too which makes it great to use after a day at work.
I've only had this book a couple of weeks and I've already tried 8 recipes and they've all been excellent - especially the Split Pea Fritter Curry - love it!

At first I thought this book was brilliant but actually it's got incorrect information in it which could be a danger to your child and I couldn't trust it!!
In the 4-7 month category it has recipes for oats and meat. If you're weaning your child before 6 months you should know that you cannot give meat to them and only gluten free oats, which it doesn't mention.
I wouldn't trust this book and will not be using it. Unfortunately I didn't get to look at it until it was too late to return.

I had bought this book to find some interesting new recipe's to cook for my 'vegi' friends, but was very disappointed to find that many of the recipe's include mixing lots of tinned food together! Not for the serious cook....wish I could send it back !

This book surpassed my expectations. I had the sweet potato and goat's cheese recipe at a friend's place and was so impressed, I immediately bought it. Every recipe has been absolutely mouthwateringly delicious!
I absolutely love this book - it really is the best veggie cookbook I've ever come across!
All too often the angle is that if you're veggie you must be a) doing it to be healthy (in which case the recipe book neglects the gloriously calorific, cheesy, doughy stuff in favour of stiff, crunchy vegetables) or b) doing it and having difficulty (in which case you basically get fifty recipes for Shepherd's Pie except with quorn mince substitute).
It's not the book for you if you want millions of mouthwatering pictures, it's very wordy indeed - but personally I like that, and the advice given is so good it's a sure compensation. The author possibly likes the sound of her own voice a bit, mixing in family anecdotes and jokes with the ... Read More:

I've only been a vegetarian for six months. This book has many great recipes but after enjoying using it for a while, I discovered that there is no such thing as vegetarian parmesan cheese. All parmesan contains rennet, which comes from the stomach linings of slaughtered newly born calves.
As a vegetarian, this notion is repulsive to me, so why does this 'vegetarian' cook book seem to use parmesan cheese on every other page?
There is a paragraph in the appendix all about parmesan cheese but there is no mention of rennet or it's origins. This book should not be marketed as a vegetarian cook book.
