The reason I stopped reading this execrable book after sixty pages is not because I thought it was wholly wrong - indeed I agreed with much of what gray said.
The reason why the book was totally facile was because Gray never backs up his assertions by evidence or even argument; it's just a collection of his opinions. An easy to read, clearly written book in digestible chapters, although based on American collections of animals. A good reference book for people working with wild animals or those interested in captive wild animals.

A really clear political exposition, which helps provide solid philosophical underpinnings to veganism and a way forward for animal rights' thinking which does not include a lot of "they're-just-like-us-no-they're-not" irrelevancies. Very readable, too! Highly recommended.

This is a superb, very initimate description of trying to set up a National Park under very harsh conditions in Zambia. It makes excellent reading and is not only an interesting and easy read but also gives you some insight into the progression of governments control over elephant poaching. I definitely recommend it.
