I bought this book after a recommendation on an internet cat mailing list, and wasn't sure what I was going to get! Most people who are interested in animal welfare have a faith of some sort, and this little book is there with the appropriate words when an animal is hurt, in trouble or dies - to put a deceased animal into a hole in the ground and walk away without a prayer to help it on its final journey just isn't on! I'm sure that there are some who'll say that animals don't have souls and will hold up their hands in horror at the contents of Animal Rites, but I for one think that animals *do* go to Heaven. If they don't, I don't want to go either. Andrew Linzey, your book's a gem!

I have no experience with dogs. I've never owned one, looked after one or really had any contact with them but my fiance LOVES dogs with a passion, I knew our family home was going to include a canine friend! This was the first book on puppies that I read and am so glad I did, it was informative and simple to understand, even to someone with no pet experience or knowledge. It covers all aspects of training the puppy for obedience classes when it reaches 4 months old and from there, John Ross has another GREAT book entitled "Dog Talk - Training your dog through a canine point of view" an excellent follow on from puppy preschool...I dont think I could have coped with our new 4 legged arrival without this great book!
