A friend had this book and after the first glance, I was so impressed, I ordered half a dozen... And I'm not even particularly wild about cheese. After reading the book, I made a trip to Paris and went on a cheese hunt. Amazing!! I am still not a cheese afficionado, but I do know a lot lot more about French cheeses.

This is an excellent book and tells us what happened to the men of the 51st Highland Division who did not escape at Dunkirk. This story has easily been forgotten and their sacrifice should be remembered. Their forced march from France to Poland, starvation, cruelty, unforgetable lice (who were better fed than the troops!), some kindness from locals and comradeship born out of suffering plus some humour too. These men in my eyes were real heroes and should never be forgotten.
My father in law, Sandy Baillie, was also taken at St Valery-en Caux and this book has made me really understand what he went through - like the author's brother, he did not talk much about his experiences. The book mentions the camp that my father in law was held in Stalag ... Read More:

It is set in America and the main character is a boy called Greg. He steals a camera from a spooky house. This camera develops pictures that would really spook you out and send a chill down your spine - as the people in the pictures come out as having no heads. I thought this was a really good book, packed with thrills and spills. You were always left wondering what would happen next. Great storyline and packed with scares! by Amir Rauf 1K1
