If you are into reinforcement learning and looking for an alternate meta heruistic try this book. This is one of the few books that you can find in this area. It gives a brief description of Ant colony optimisation which is an agent based optimisation method that is influenced from emergent behaviour of simple and individual ants in the nature. I was particularly interested with antnet routing algorithm which is explained in detail in one chapter.

The story of how a little girl encounters the spirits of animal souls from long ago which help protect her from present day corruption, reminds us of the continual echoes of unseen voices in much of Geraghty's work. For those of you who love highly detailed, sensitive illustrations alongside both interesting, but moving storylines, this book is a must!

This is a fascinating book. It traces the whole history of the relationship between humans and animals and the development of the movement in recent decades to protect animals. Philosophers have led the current revival of interest in animal rights. In Europe the issue has gone further and a mass of new legislation has been passed in recent years to protect animals. If animals can suffer why should they not have rights? But why does Europe lead the US on this? Why is America being left behind? Are Americans less rational or less compassionate? Ryder addresses these issues (which are rarely addressed elsewhere). This is one of the main reasons I find the book invaluable. He also gives a wealth of scientific evidence to support the case for better ... Read More:

I got the Big Book of this title, for use in schools. However it is just for 2 little brothers. They love it. They are fascinated and intrigued by all the detail and can look at it for hours. Parents also love it. In fact, it's a real eye catcher of a book with beautiful vibrant colours. I think I agree with another reviewer who says that the big book ought to have teacher's notes though. However, this did not spoil my enjoyment of it.
I do highly recommend all books by this artist.
