Wonderful - pictures for every dish, of the finished product and along the way. Each of the recipe I've tried has turned out simply gorgeous, and I'm not a good cook! There's a nutrition section at the beginning, but I just focus on the recipes, which are more varied then other vegan cookbooks, it's just a pity there aren't hundreds more of them!

I came across this by accident - saw a friend's copy and fell in love with it. I'm a vegan of seven-years and love checking out new recipes books but was particularly impressed by this one. The recipes aren't full of weird hard-to-find ingredients either and are mostly very simple but tasty. There's lots more too - the ethics and politics of food; how to grow your own; reassuring advice on being a pregnant vegan - all sorts. Written with a genuine ... Read More:

Lots of exotic but simple recipes in here, including things like Jamaican patties and rice and peas, but also stuff I'd never heard of, such as buss-up shot, phulouri, pelau, and doubles. No nonsense, straightforward - and delicious!

"The writings of history's most important proponents of ethical vegetarianism are gathered here in one volume. This book is a wealth of information for all those concerned with ending the sufferings of animals." --Ingrid E. Newkirk, President of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
"This book is noteworthy for three reasons. First, it gathers together ... Read More:
