I bought this book very hopefully: it is hard to find completely fat-free recipes published in England. This American book, however, is not easy to adapt for ingredients easily found in UK, and particularly, in rural areas. I wish I knew of a really good fat-free recipe book for us.
Nevertheless this book is not a complete waste of money and if you're prepared to be creative with the recipes, use it.

This is a follow-up to Caribbean Cookery for Vegans, which I thought was great. Unlike some Caribbean recipe books that seem to bear little relation to the food that is actually consumed in the region, this seems to be the real deal, with genuine dishes, albeit veganised, that you would find in places like Trinidad and Jamaica. My favourites in this book were pai me (a kind of cornbread) and metagee (made with cassava dumplings and coconut milk).
