I bought this book a few years ago. I am the owner of many vegan cook books and I have to say that unfortunately it is the one I use the least. I gave it two stars because I do agree the dishes are very economical - otherwise I would have given only one. The problem seems to be that the recipes never seem to have properly rounded flavours, and although this is sometimes easily rectified - perhaps by adding garlic and herbs I always felt that the author's taste buds must be a little limited. Eva batt's recipes are also very frugal but seem to work better than this. I've tried about 4 of the recipes in this book, and whilst they are laid out really clearly with the ingredients up the side of the page and lovely photographs, almost all of the recipes require specialist ingredients such as millet, walnut oil and potato flour, amongst others. Some of the ingredients I had to substitute because I couldn't find them anywhere, and the food I did cook took absolutely ages.
