Let's face it, cupcakes are cute :o) and this is the cutest recipe book in the world! Best of all, all the recipes are animal friendly! Whoopie!
Every single recipe in this book is creative and look (and taste!) divine! The photography is beautiful and makes you want to have the real thing in front of you immediately, the most inspiring cook book ever!
As mentioned by others, the measurement are American, but once you have the equipment (buy some measuring cups today!) I find the recipes are much easier to follow than the Brit weighing method.
More advice: if your oven is a bit off with the temperatures, buy an oven thermometer. The first poor batch of cupcakes I made sunk :o( it was because my oven was ... Read More:

I am delighted with this book. Started off with the walnut & raisin cakes - actually dates, almonds, walnuts, raisins. My husband loves them so I make double batches every few days, and it stops him eating choc bars! Cucumber soup for dinner guests was next - absolutely delicious, one I intend to make again and again. Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with the photos or the book itself. All looks fine to me. Thoroughly recommend it. Am looking forward to trying out some more recipes.

I'm not a vegetarian, but a vegetarian friend showed me her copy of this book, and I just had to buy it. Every recipe I've tried works fantastically well, and whenever I use the recipes to entertain, they are extremely well received. A number of my friends have now bought the book too. I'm definitely going to buy more of Rose Elliot's books.

I have tried several raw food 'cook' books of late - they all had something to offer, but they have been dominated by dips and sauces rather than the 'solid' food I was seeking. This is well illustrated, easy to follow, doesn't rely too heavily on a dehydrator (but a food processor would be useful) and generally brighter and more accessible than others I have read, still lots of dips, but much more besides.
An instant favourite.

Incomplete recipes for turgid slop! I have been a veggie for 22 years, and am a good cook/baker, so I thought I'd try this. It looks like a good idea (if you can get past the pseudo-science in the intro), but the recipes just don't work, that's if she's bothered to finish them - several had bits missing, which is just lazy writing/editing.

I've been vegan for just over a year now and I had started to miss things like cheesecake/cakes etc. Then I found this book! It's very easy to follow and the ingredients are all easy to get hold of. Super!

I'm quite into raw food and generally trying to live a healthy life so I have enjoyed this book - it has given me some good ideas on how to incorporate more raw food into my diet. However...quite a few recipes are way different to the food I am used to! Raw ketchup was amazingly good and the spring roll style wraps are worth making but combinations of sprouts, seaweed and bombay mix found in other recipes are rather new tastes for me!
All in all worth getting, but as someone who is 'quite' interested in raw food I need more recipes that are closer to my taste. Maybe I'll try Kate's next book....

This is a wonderful collection of easy to prepare vegetarian dishes that taste amazing. Nadine Abensur transforms simple vegetables like potatoes and spinach into something heavenly. This is what vegetarian food is all about ... dishes that make you want to make them again and again and again. Some of my favourites are the beetroot risotto, spinach soup, and the celeriac and porcini gratin. I love this book because all the dishes I have tried are lovely and if you're cooking for someone else you can be guaranteed that whatever you choose to make from this book will impress your guest without fail. Gone are the days of boring, bland veggie food; Nadine Abensur's book changes the taste of lentils, tofu and cabbage to something spectacular and special.
