I first fell in love with John Green when he came out with the book LOOKING FOR ALASKA. I was equally enchanted with AN ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES. Last night, I finally finished John Green's latest and greatest addition, PAPER TOWNS. Mind you, I have been trying to finish it for three days crammed between work, work, and more work. It got to the point that something had to give and it was going to be my work, because I just had to finish the book. I read someone else's review and she said that she was tempted to skip to page 305, the last page, to see what happened to one of the main characters, Margo. I want this person to know I was tempted to but, alas, I did not peek either - I was so proud of myself. Besides, waiting until the end made the ... Read More:

I bought this book for my nephew who's just turned 13 and he didn't put it down for two hours solid! He found it interesting, useful and it made him laugh out loud.

This is not the genre of books that I usually read but I was hooked from the first page.
The quality of Phillip Pullman's writing meant that I was instantly transported to firstly Victorian London, then Razkavia, a country that I almost feel patriotic about.
I now look forward to reading the preceeding three Sally Lockhart books.

ok...these books have been reprinted and made generally more up to date
1st theres Dark Angel where an "angel" helps normal boring Gillian become more popular and confident.
2nd one is The Chosen. This is my favourite out of all the Night World books so far. It's about vampire hunter Rashel who finds out her soulmate is evil vampire Quinn.
Finally theres Soulmate where Hannah Snow realises she has had many lives and that he soulmate Thierry has been searching for her in all of them.
I love all these books not just because of all the romance but they also have action and some of the descriptions are quite gory. I'd recommend them to anybody as they are brilliant (:
This is the only CGP book which I think doesn't do its' job fantastically. The book does not go into enough depth at all. It lacks enough Bible teachings - something which is required to pass the exam! Many topics are totally missed out, and the book didn't provide me with any help in remebering things for the exam.
Students beware! Many exam boards such as OCR have split the Christianity Religious Studies syllabus up into different courses, and you normally only study one course. This book tries to cover all the courses in a small amount of space and fails.
I don't understand why CGP had to release it with Islam and Judaism, as I wasn't even studying these, and it is a waste of money for me. I would expect CGP to release revision guides for ... Read More:

i havn't got my results back for my English Lit GCSE but i'm quietly confident.I got an a star in the mock on the revision of this book alone as it goes into all the questions posed by golding throughout the ingenious novel. i've used numerous guides and helpers but this is one of the best i've used. All you need to know...could do with a few more concise quotes though...so i'll give it 4.

Good for young teenagers and primary kids. These contain all the stories that were published before the tv series. Some things are different but it still sounds interesting when you read it. I could still read it now even though I'm not a kid anymore. Would recommend to read even if you're an older teenager now (well only if you were fond of the tv series when you were a bit younger).

This book is an excellent introduction to what can be a dense and complex play. It starts with a simple plot outline. It then progresses to more in depth analysis of the play scene by scene. After which it lays out some key themes, symbols and ideas in the play in the forms of mini essays. It has a fairly good glossary, a potted history of Shakespeare himself and how his plays would have appeared. It also has a good time line and chronology, a glossary of common theatrical and critical terms and a good recommended reading list. It is very useful indeed.

Terry Pratchett had been talking about a book called Nation he'd really wanted to write for almost half a decade when he was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's. According to rumour, he'd already begun working on the next Tiffany Aching Discworld novel, I Shall Wear Midnight, but upon hearing the news he dropped it immediately to make sure Nation was written first.
Nation is not a Discworld novel, but is instead set in an alternate history very similar to our own late 19th Century when the British Empire was at its height. A tidal wave sweeps across the Great Southern Pelargic Ocean (the South Pacific) and wipes out the tribal civilisation of the Mothering Sunday Islands. In particular, the island simply known as the Nation is totally destroyed, apart ... Read More:
