After my daughter received Egyptology and instantly fell in love with it I have bought several more since and have bought Mythology for her this Christmas.
It has some lovely illustrations of various ancient Greek Gods such as Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. It includes the story of the wooden horse of Troy as well as an interesting map of Ancient Greece and a stunning representation in shiny gold of a magnificent death mask. It has a beautiful blue front cover, with a stunning picture, embossed in gold, with little blue glass globules and a lovely gold feather built into the last page and is of superb quality as all these 'ology' books are. I am assuming that the review below, copied from the `Comments' area of this item, was the original review that the other two reviews refer to - so well done to all who got it deleted from the system.
I couldn't agree more with these two reviews on this item - this is a blank baby book for parents to fill in, with photos and text, as their baby develops over those precious first 12 months. What does puzzle me is the fact that it got a positive vote in the first place - unless the author is also guilty of voting for his own reviews which is quite possible given how his `helpful' votes whizz up - you only need to look back at the review pages to see how obtuse the subjects are and how suspicious the voting is, especially on items ... I bought the Spiral Draw Book for my 9-year old son last year. He has used it and used it. No complaints when asked to make a card, design a poster, write a letter. Everything has been decorated with different spiral patterns, or spiral patterns turned into animals, monsters, etc. It takes a bit of getting used to plus a bit of concentration, but now my 7-year old is starting to have a go.

The captions inside are a nice touch too. Perfect for a christening or special birthday gift - I hope my godson will like it when a bit older!! This is limited edition too, so should prove highly collectible.

What a gorgeous book, and one I don't dread reading with my 2 year old at bedtime. Sometimes Thomas the Tank Engine picture books are just too much to bear for the eighth night in a row but this is the perfect antidote for anyone who knows what I'm talking about! Animal Hide and Seek gets chosen regularly and the flaps are nice and sturdy for little hands to open and fold back again and again. Lots to look at and talk about, and not too heavy to juggle with a wriggling toddler. Buy this book - I'm sure you will love it.

My son, the worlds greatest Top Gear fan!, was bought this book as a gift and loves it!
Full of funny little bits and quizzes, which to be honest don't take long to complete, but the two 'board games' are played over and over (and over....) again! Good fun for a Top Gear fan! Not huge and won't last forever, but at this price, who cares?! >>More Details |
