When my daughter started asking why you needed a man and a woman to make a baby (after the cats had had their operation!), I knew the time was coming close to my explaining 'how babies are made'. When the subject came up again (for some bizarre reason in the middle of the X-Factor), I explained the basics, without going into unnecessary detail, but she still wanted to know how the man's seed got into the woman! I feel that it is important to be honest with children and give them truthful answers appropriate for their age group and this book does just that. I decided to buy this book from Amazon, but after having read a couple of negative reviews about it on this website, I wondered whether my memory was failing me as to its content, so I ... Read More:

My 18 month old son is completely obsessed with this book. We read it 6 times a day and he giggles constantly when he sees the poo on the mole's head! His Grandmother bought it for him and intially I thought it was ridiculous and that he was too young - but she was right (as usual!)

I had such high hopes for this book (being a big fan of the Touchy-Feely series), so was really disappointed when I sat down to read it with my daughter. The pages are beautiful but the story itself is very disjointed - there's no context and it's as if only every third or fourth line of the full story was printed. And it doesn't mention God anywhere.
If you just want a pretty version of the nativity, this may be fine. But if you are looking for a version of the Christmas story for children, I'd look elsewhere.

An interesting presentation of various checkmates, using typical positions to explain the 'how to' without getting bogged down in too much detail. An excellent read and highly recommended.

We are also true fans, but the additional Maisy doll really was the icing on te cake! My son is 18 months old, and he really loves it-especially taking off the clothes, and is truly amazed and delighted to see that Maisy has a bellybutton, too!

I loved the illustrations - Loved the pneumatic drill! My 5-year old laughs hysterically when I read it for her. It turns conventions upside down and makes traditional fairy tales seem tedious and bigotted. Go little wolves!!!

We bought this when the cassettes broke, after 5 years' service. Delightful dramatizations of several Mog stories. It's a CD that would be my number one choice if I had to listen to a preschool CD in the car. Beautifully done.
